Anyone who heats a house with coal knows how much waste is generated - ash, coal dust. The latter in our country is considered unsuitable for anything and thrown away. But this is in our country, rich in fuel, but in the DPRK they have learned to use coal dust as well. And it burns no worse than lumpy coal.

True, this dust is pre-mixed with clay. It is done like this. Clay is dissolved in water, stirred well to the consistency of liquid sour cream and coal dust and small pieces of coal are poured.

Tablets are formed from a dense wet mass, having previously made a special shape. A glass is made from a cut of a four- or five-inch pipe, to the bottom of which a tubular handle is welded. An ejector washer is cut out of sheet steel and a rod is welded to it on one side, and rods from bar scraps on the other. During molding, they form holes-channels in the tablet, which increase the combustion area and enhance heat and gas removal.

It is known that coal of different grades burns differently. So you might have to experiment a little. In tablets from low-quality or clogged waste coal, you will either have to make more ventilation holes or increase their diameter.

The rod is inserted into the tubular handle, and the washer is lowered into the glass. The mixture is tightly stuffed, tamped. Holding the glass by the handle, squeeze the tablet onto a flat surface with the rod.

Using such fuel, the stove is first fired with wood, and then charcoal tablets are placed on top. They will burn for a long time and evenly, and after burning they will not fall apart and thus make it easier to clean the stove.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Video games can boost a child's intelligence 28.10.2022

Many parents today are concerned about the impact of video games on the health and development of their children, and as this hobby remains one of the most popular, it is extremely important to understand what benefits and harms they can have.

A team of researchers from the University of Vermont analyzed cognitive and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data from the brains of nearly 2000 children aged 9-10. Those who reported playing video games for three or more hours a day retained information faster and more accurately and controlled their emotions.

They also showed higher activity in those areas of gray matter associated with attention and memory, in contrast to peers who had never played computer games.

Experts explain that this passion can lead to increased productivity in solving all sorts of life tasks.

Numerous studies have linked video games to behavioral deterioration and mental health problems. The same study suggests that such a popular pastime may also have cognitive benefits that merit further study.

Although a number of studies have explored the relationship between video games and cognitive behavior, the neurobiological mechanisms are not well understood. However, the next time your child plays computer games for a long time, do not rush to distract him. Better specify what he plays - maybe this game will teach him to make difficult decisions and prepare him for an independent life?
