Toyota Mirai hydrogen car 24.11.2014

Toyota has shared new information about its first car powered by a hydrogen fuel cell power plant.

We are talking about the Mirai sedan. The Japanese manufacturer has repeatedly shown this car and talked about its advantages over conventional vehicles with an internal combustion engine and hybrids: these are zero emissions of harmful gases into the atmosphere and quick refueling (a few minutes, not hours, as is the case with fully electric cars) .

It is reported that Mirai on a full "tank" will be able to cover a distance of 480-500 km. For comparison: Tesla electric cars on a single charge, according to technical specifications, can travel up to 460 km at speeds up to 100 km/h. Of course, in real conditions this figure is much lower.

The Toyota Mirai will go on sale in the US market in 2016. The price will be approximately $ 70. In principle, this is comparable to the cost of Tesla electric cars, but keep in mind that the network of hydrogen filling stations is still in its infancy. Tesla now has 000 charging stations in the US, 124 in Europe, and 82 in China.

How Toyota plans to develop a network of hydrogen "gas stations" is not entirely clear.
