How did the Ancient Greek state arise and what were the periods of its formation?

The history of Ancient Greece can be divided into 5 periods:

1) the Aegean, or Cretan-Mycenaean (III-II millennium BC), the period of decomposition of the tribal system, the emergence and development in certain areas of early class slave states, which ceased to exist as a result of the Dorian migration;

2) Greece X-IX centuries. BC e. - period of temporary revival primitive communal relations after the Dorian conquest and the subsequent pan-Greek development of class relations based on the ancient form of property;

3) archaic period (VIII-VI centuries BC) - continuation of the previous period, the time of formation of the ancient slave society, the emergence of policies;

4) classical period (V-IV centuries BC) - the highest development of slave relations in ancient policies.

5) the Hellenistic period (second half of the XNUMXth - mid-XNUMXst century BC) represented the further development of slave society in the vast areas of the Middle East after the Greco-Macedonian conquest of the Persian power. This period ended with the conquest of the western part (up to the Euphrates) by Parthia.

According to ancient Greek traditions, preserved in the Homeric poems and among Greek historians, the most significant tribes among the most ancient population in these areas were the Pelasgians. Herodotus considered them to be relatives of the Greeks. Cretans can be named among the most ancient island tribes.

In the XNUMXst millennium BC. e. the ancient Greek tribes finally formed and settled as follows: in the north of Greece and Central Greece - the Aeolians; The eastern part of central Greece, Attica, and the islands of the central Aegean Sea were inhabited by the Ionians. The Achaeans held out in the north and center of the Peloponnese. The rest of the Peloponnese was inhabited by the Dorians.

The Greeks did not have a common language for a long time and spoke numerous dialects that were equally understandable to the vast majority.

Balkan Greece, after the Dorian migration, socially degraded towards the widespread distribution of tribal relations. The Achaean states disappeared. The slang writing was forgotten. Surviving the defeat of Attica returned to tribal relations.

A New Way to Control and Manipulate Optical Signals 05.05.2024

The modern world of science and technology is developing rapidly, and every day new methods and technologies appear that open up new prospects for us in various fields. One such innovation is the development by German scientists of a new way to control optical signals, which could lead to significant progress in the field of photonics. Recent research has allowed German scientists to create a tunable waveplate inside a fused silica waveguide. This method, based on the use of a liquid crystal layer, allows one to effectively change the polarization of light passing through a waveguide. This technological breakthrough opens up new prospects for the development of compact and efficient photonic devices capable of processing large volumes of data. The electro-optical control of polarization provided by the new method could provide the basis for a new class of integrated photonic devices. This opens up great opportunities for ... >>

Primium Seneca keyboard 05.05.2024

Keyboards are an integral part of our daily computer work. However, one of the main problems that users face is noise, especially in the case of premium models. But with the new Seneca keyboard from Norbauer & Co, that may change. Seneca is not just a keyboard, it is the result of five years of development work to create the ideal device. Every aspect of this keyboard, from acoustic properties to mechanical characteristics, has been carefully considered and balanced. One of the key features of Seneca is its silent stabilizers, which solve the noise problem common to many keyboards. In addition, the keyboard supports various key widths, making it convenient for any user. Although Seneca is not yet available for purchase, it is scheduled for release in late summer. Norbauer & Co's Seneca represents new standards in keyboard design. Her ... >>

The world's tallest astronomical observatory opened 04.05.2024

Exploring space and its mysteries is a task that attracts the attention of astronomers from all over the world. In the fresh air of the high mountains, far from city light pollution, the stars and planets reveal their secrets with greater clarity. A new page is opening in the history of astronomy with the opening of the world's highest astronomical observatory - the Atacama Observatory of the University of Tokyo. The Atacama Observatory, located at an altitude of 5640 meters above sea level, opens up new opportunities for astronomers in the study of space. This site has become the highest location for a ground-based telescope, providing researchers with a unique tool for studying infrared waves in the Universe. Although the high altitude location provides clearer skies and less interference from the atmosphere, building an observatory on a high mountain poses enormous difficulties and challenges. However, despite the difficulties, the new observatory opens up broad research prospects for astronomers. ... >>

The All-Seeing Eye of the Israeli Army 30.05.2012

The Israeli Air Force plans to test the MASINT hyperspectral intelligence system developed by Elbit Systems. MASINT is a new generation of surveillance and intelligence systems that can not only detect visible objects, such as infantry and armored vehicles, but also detect the spectral signatures of various materials, including uranium and poisonous substances. Currently, the MASINT prototype is deployed aboard the Hermes 450S unmanned aerial vehicle.

MASINT detects the spectral signatures of various substances, and does not just produce electro-optical or radar images of the target. Thanks to this, the new surveillance system is able to detect camouflaged storages of nuclear weapons and other dangerous materials, even if they are located, for example, in a simple private house. The Israeli Ministry of Defense has already conducted preliminary tests of the system, and this summer it is possible to equip at least one Hermes 450S military UAV with the MASINT system for combat testing.

Until now, systems like MASINT have not been used from UAVs. Modern electron-optical sensors are able to effectively detect camouflaged heat-radiating equipment or infantry. However, what exactly is in the bunker or the back of the truck has so far been impossible to determine. MASINT automatically captures spectral signatures in the vicinity of the target remotely and can determine exactly which cargo contains which object. MASINT does not produce a picture, but only detects the presence of a certain spectrum and then compares the results of observations with a database of spectral signatures. Together with electro-optical sensors, MASINT creates a powerful surveillance system that provides maximum information about the battlefield.

The MASINT hanging container weighs less than 60 kg and includes a primary hyperspectral sensor and a secondary camera capable of taking stereoscopic images. According to Elbit Systems, the system can "process" 100 square kilometers of surface per hour from a height of 4,5 km.
