What is the difference between using & and and in movie credits?

Although the ampersand sign & in English corresponds to the union "and" ("and"), in some texts the sign and union are not interchangeable. For example, if two authors of the script are indicated in the credits of the film, then combining them with an ampersand indicates joint simultaneous work on the text. If the names are connected by the word "and", then the authors wrote the script at different times and, perhaps, did not consult with each other at all.
