How much can the heaviest cage weigh?

How are star clusters different from constellations?

Unlike constellations, which are groups of stars visible in the sky that are actually quite distant from each other, star clusters are associations of stars that are physically connected by mutual gravitation.

Distinguish between open and globular star clusters.

Open star clusters do not have regular outlines, they are located inside galaxies and usually unite from several tens to several thousand stars randomly scattered in a region of space ranging in size from 5-6 to 30 light-years or more. Such clusters, when observed, are regions where the stars are denser than the average in the sky. If in the region of the Milky Way where the Sun is located, the distance between stars is on average 6-7 light years, then in open clusters the average distance is two light years. In the Milky Way, open star clusters can be observed in the thousands, but their number is probably tens of times greater. Globular star clusters are located on the periphery of the Milky Way and in other galaxies, about 200 of them were found in our Galaxy. The shape of globular clusters is correct, almost spherical - they look like luminous balls.

A globular star cluster contains from several thousand to several million stars; towards the center of the cluster, the number of stars increases so much that they merge into a continuous glow. In globular clusters, stars are located on average about 1/2 light-year apart, and in the centers of clusters this distance is reduced to 1/6 light-year. Globular clusters are about 100 light-years across. They are tens of thousands of light years away from the Earth (the farthest is over 200 thousand light years from us).

Philae probe landed on comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko 13.11.2014

The European Space Agency (ESA) announced that the Philae probe, which separated from the Rosetta spacecraft, made a successful landing on the surface of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.

For the first time in history, a man-made apparatus was able to gain a foothold on a comet rushing at a tremendous speed - about 55 km / h. Due to the relatively small size of the space object and, therefore, low gravity, the process of "falling" Philae took about seven hours. The engagement with the comet was successful, despite the fact that malfunctions in the landing system were discovered after the probe undocked.

The ESA has already released pictures of the receding probe taken with the OSIRIS (Optical, Spectroscopic, and Infrared Remote Imaging System) instrument aboard the Rosetta. In the near future, images of the comet taken from the Philae will appear.

It is assumed that the studies carried out by the apparatus on the Churyumov-Gerasimenko comet will provide new information about the formation of the Earth and, possibly, about the appearance of water on it, without which the existence of our civilization would be impossible.
