When and from whom was the previously awarded Grammy Music Award taken away?

In 1987, producer Boney M conceived a new project called Milli Vanilli. However, the appearance of the main performers did not meet the expectations of the youth audience, and it so happened that the face of the group was two dancers who always sang "to the plywood". Soon the group gained super popularity all over the world, but it did not last long, and the musicians were exposed. The disc-producing company began to return money for the album to everyone who wanted it, and the duo was taken away from the previously awarded Grammy Award - the only case in the history of this musical award.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. New waste disposal technology on the International Space Station 13.08.2022

NASA has successfully piloted a new waste disposal technology aboard the International Space Station (ISS) developed by Nanoracks, a Texas-based space equipment company.

Typically, ISS astronauts spend months collecting garbage and storing it at the station, waiting for the Cygnus cargo ship to arrive. Cygnus is a spacecraft designed to transport supplies to the space station.

After delivering supplies, the astronauts load bags of garbage onto the ship. When a spacecraft deorbits, it burns up completely upon re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere.

The new concept developed by Nanoracks uses a specially designed waste container contained in the ISS commercial airlock module, the Bishop Airlock. Station crew members can fill it with approximately 270 kg of waste. After that, the container is separated from the module and, like Cygnus, completely burns out during entry into the Earth's atmosphere. This method is better because the astronauts do not have to wait for the cargo spacecraft to arrive to dispose of the waste.

During the successful first test, the container contained about 78 kilograms of debris, including polystyrene foam, packaging materials, cargo carrying bags, dirty crew clothes, hygiene products and used stationery.
