Stanley Matthews has been named England's Player of the Year several times and Europe's Player of the Year once. In his entire sports career, which lasted until the age of 50, he was never sent off the field and did not even receive a single warning. At the farewell match, Queen Elizabeth II awarded him a knighthood, which was the first such case among football players. The same achievement, not a single yellow card in his entire career, was later repeated by Gary Lineker - although he left the sport earlier, at the age of 34.

Why is the White House called that?

The White House was not always white and was not always called that. But it has always been the official residence of the President of the United States. This is the oldest federal building, the foundations of which were laid on October 13, 1792. It was built by Irish architect James Hoban, who won an architects' competition. His project was chosen for the president's house. Initially, it was called the Presidential House, the Presidential Mansion and even the Presidential Palace.

How did it get the name White House? It was first built of gray stone. During the War of 1812, British troops captured Washington and burned down the president's house (August 24, 1814). Only the walls remained. Under the leadership of Hoban, the building was restored and fully completed in 1817. To hide the fire stains, the gray stone walls were painted white. Therefore, the building began to be called the White House, but this name was not official until Theodore Roosevelt legalized it in 1902.

Interestingly, the rooms in the White House also differ in color. The blue oval room is the reception room for the president and his wife. The Red Room is furnished with Empire period furniture. The Green Room contains furniture and items from the eras of Presidents John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. Upstairs is the Pink Room, where the president and his family live.

Low Power SoC BlueNRG-232 16.08.2018

STMicroelectronics releases the BlueNRG-2 system-on-a-chip that complies with the Bluetooth 5.0 specification. The ICs are available in 32/34/48-pin packages with a Cortex-M0 processor core, 256KB Flash, and 24KB RAM. The microcircuit supports the BLE Multi Role mode of operation, acting at the same time as an announcer (Advertiser) and as a listener (Scanner). In the "Connection" mode, up to 2 connections with other Masters and up to 8 connections with Slave devices are supported simultaneously.

The built-in DC/DC converter allows you to reduce the average current consumption to 7 μA in the BLE connection mode with an interval of 1 second. With a CR232 battery, a BLueNRG-232 based device can operate for about 4 years in "Connection" mode.

The user application can use a variety of peripherals - up to 26 GPIO lines, ADC, UART, SPI, I2C. To connect a digital MEMS microphone, a PDM stream processor unit with a built-in digital filter is provided.

The microcircuit requires a 16 or 32 MHz quartz resonator to operate. Simple antenna connection is achieved with the integral balun BALF-NRG-02D3. BlueNRG-2 operates in the voltage range from 1,7 to 3,6 V. The operating temperature range is from -40 to 105°C. The ICs are available in FN32, QFN48 and WCSP34 packages.
