Bandages on the lower half of the abdomen and the upper third of the thigh impose on the stomach, over the upper awns of the iliac bones, impose several circular tours. If the bandage is fixed to the right thigh, then the direction of the circular tours is from left to right, if to the left - from right to left. The last circular tour from the lumbar region is transferred to the oblique, directed down, carried out over the sacrum, buttock, trochanter of the thigh and brought to the front surface of the thigh.

Next, the bandage is applied obliquely down on the anterior and medial surfaces of the thigh, circled behind the thigh and through the anterior surface of the thigh obliquely upward, to the pubic joint and then immediately above the ilium around the lower back. The following tours repeat the course of the first oblique tour, but with some upward shift. Combining alternately spiral and spike bandages, it is possible to create a very strong bandage on the thigh, buttocks, groin area and lower abdomen.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Magnetoelectric effect of a symmetrical crystal 27.09.2020

Scientists have discovered a strange magnetoelectric effect in a symmetrical crystal. These two properties, magnetism and electricity, are related to each other in many strange and, according to scientists, surprising ways, and the magnetoelectric effect is one of them. It can be seen in some crystals. This is manifested in those cases when the electrical properties of the crystal act on the magnetic field and vice versa.

Another completely impossible way of interaction was unexpectedly discovered by science. A new magnetoelectric effect has been discovered in a symmetrical crystal. It was revealed in a crystal of a special type - in langasite.

This crystal is composed of lanthanum, gallium, silicon and oxygen, as well as holmium atoms. It has a symmetrical structure and was previously thought to eliminate the relationship between electricity and magnetism. Experts suggest that the relationship between the electrical and magnetic properties of crystals depends on the internal symmetry of the crystal.

A high degree of symmetry, when one side of the crystal is a mirror image of the other, in theory cannot have a magnetoelectric effect. But recent research has proven otherwise.

Not only did the symmetrical crystal produce an unexpected effect, but it also turned out to be a type of effect that had never been seen before. In fact, the magnetism of holmium atoms broke the symmetry and created an unexpected effect, thereby announcing the transition to the field of quantum physics.

This means that polarization is possible if positive and negative charges are slightly shifted in the crystal. Now this method can be easily proved using an electromagnetic field, where the key point is the strength of the magnetic field itself. The crystal structure turned out to be so symmetrical that it cannot allow the expected effect.

But in practice, in the case of exposure to stronger rays of the magnetic field, something happened: the holmium atoms changed their quantum state and acquired a magnetic moment, thereby violating the internal symmetry of the crystal.
