What grades in mathematics did Einstein get in school?

In many sources, often with the aim of encouraging poorly performing students, there is an assertion that Einstein flunked mathematics at school or, moreover, studied badly in all subjects. In fact, this was not the case: Albert at an early age began to show talent in mathematics and knew it far beyond the school curriculum. Later, Einstein was unable to enter the ETH Zurich, showing the highest results in physics and mathematics, but not getting the required number of points in other disciplines. Pulling up these subjects, he became a student of this institution a year later at the age of 17.

What is paprika?

Real pepper comes from a plant that has the scientific name Piper Nigrum. But many other types of pepper are obtained from plants of completely different families. For example, there are red capsicums. They belong to the genus of legumes. There are also Cayenne pepper and Tabasco pepper. another type of pepper is called pimienthos when preserved in oil. "Pimientos" is the Spanish name for the pepper plant. And finally, there is paprika - it's red pepper.

Ripe paprika is red and pungent, but milder than other peppers. Therefore, paprika is more often eaten than other types. Pepper is considered the most important spice in the world. After salt, it is the most consumed food additive. In ancient and medieval times, only the rich could afford to eat pepper. Caravans brought it from the Far East, and therefore it was so expensive that a kilogram of pepper was considered a royal gift.

In other words, the pepper was like gold. People could pay taxes with pepper, and it was given as a tribute to the rulers. When the army defeated the enemy and the warriors received trophies, pepper was considered the best reward they could receive. The Portuguese wanted to buy pepper at lower prices and tried to find a sea route to India. When they found a way through the Cape of Good Hope, the cost of pepper in Europe plummeted.

Today, pepper is so cheap that we don't even think about the price when we buy it. Peppers are obtained from the fruit, or seeds, of the climbing shrub. Black pepper is harvested unripe and dried black berries. White pepper is obtained by removing the skin before grinding.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Childbirth in space 20.11.2018

Spacelife Origin employees want to realize the idea of having a baby in orbit by 2024. To date, women are being searched who are ready to help science.

According to the head of Spacelife Origin, Casey Mulder, in order to become an "interplanetary species" humanity needs to learn how to give birth in space. The first stage will be the launch of the capsule, which is also called the "space incubator". Fertilization should take place in it, then the incubator will return back to Earth, and the authors can proceed to the next step. There will be a search for women who will agree to carry these embryos, and when the time comes, one of them will fly into space to give birth.

If everything goes well, then a full-fledged birth is planned already in 2024. Only a woman who has good health and stamina will recover into orbit to give birth. She will be accompanied by a team of trained obstetricians. They will provide the mother of the "cosmic child" with quality childbirth without risk to the health of both.
