What makes the earth revolve around the sun?

Let's start by determining what makes the Earth and other planets move. According to one of the theories about the origin of the solar system, about 5 billion years ago, a huge cloud of dust formed and began to rotate. It turned into a disk, and the hot central mass became the Sun. The outer parts of the dust cloud turned into separate swirling masses, from which the planets then formed.

And now the planets, one of which is the Earth, continue to rotate. And why the Earth and other planets do not fly away into open space? This is prevented by the gravity, or attraction, of the Sun. According to Newton's laws of motion, a moving object tries to continue its movement in a straight line until it is acted upon by extraneous forces. Therefore, moving planets tend to fly away from the Sun in a straight line. But external forces prevent this, keep the planets in their orbits. These external forces are solar gravity, that is, solar attraction.

Each planet moves in its own orbit and the speed of its movement depends on its distance from the Sun. The planet moves faster when it is closer to the Sun and slower when it moves away from it. The Earth moves at a speed of 30,2 km/s when it is closest to the Sun, and at a speed of 29,2 km/s when it is at its furthest from it. As the planet orbits closer to the Sun, the Sun's gravitational pull is stronger; when it moves away, the gravitational pull weakens. Greater gravity causes a greater speed of the planet. For example, Mercury moves at an average speed of 47,9 km/s, and Pluto at an average speed of 4,6 km/s.

Where, besides Australia, can you find kangaroos in the wild?

Kangaroos in the wild are found not only in Australia. Small colonies of red-grey wallabies also exist in several European countries, such as England and Scotland. A group of about 30 wallabies lives in the Rambouillet Forest, 50 km from Paris. Almost all of these colonies formed after one or more pairs of kangaroos escaped from zoos.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Imagination Catapult RISC-V processors 12.12.2021

Imagination Technologies introduced the Imagination Catapult family of processors built on the open instruction set architecture (ISA) RISC-V. According to the manufacturer, these CPUs are designed from the ground up for the needs of next-generation heterogeneous computing solutions.

Imagination Catapult processors can be configured for high performance, high efficiency, or a balanced profile, making them suitable for a wide range of markets.

Catapult processors are available in four different families: dynamic microcontrollers; built-in real-time processors; high performance application processors; functionally safe automotive processors.

The first family, microcontrollers, are already shipping in high performance automotive GPUs in SoCs built by Imagination customers. Embedded real-time processors are now available. High performance application processors and automotive processors will arrive in 2022.

The processors are available in 32-bit and 64-bit versions, are multi-threaded, and have many user-configurable options to suit the needs of the application. They can be scaled up to eight asymmetric coherent cores per cluster for increased SoC versatility with the ability to add customizable accelerators.

Because Catapult processors are RISC-V ISA compliant, they are fully supported by the broad and growing ecosystem of RISC-V software and tools.

Catapult processors come with a full featured SDK that includes enhanced versions of standard build and debug tools such as GCC, LLVM and GDB, optimized C libraries and Imagination: Catapult Studio IDE. The Catapult Studio IDE is based on Visual Studio Code and enhanced with features focused on embedded development, RISC-V development, and tight integration with the wider SDK, enabling developers to take full advantage of Catapult processors. The Catapult SDK is available for Windows, Ubuntu, CentOS, and MacOS and includes both FreeRTOS and full Linux support, including Yocto-based reference loaders, kernels, and filesystems.
