The Grand Duke of Kyiv Svyatoslav Igorevich (? -972) went down in history not so much as the ruler of his own land, but as a conqueror of someone else's.

Svyatoslav spent almost his entire short adult life on campaigns, away from his home. The Kyiv state at that time was actually ruled by his mother, Princess Olga. The prince went on his first campaign in 964, and died in the spring of 972. During these 8 years, Svyatoslav made: two campaigns against the Vyatichi, the defeat of the Khazar Khaganate (which led to its almost complete destruction), the conquest of Danube Bulgaria, the repulse of the Pechenegs’ onslaught on Russia, a two-year war with Byzantium, during which the Greeks, only at the cost of the greatest exertion of forces, managed to stop Russian squads that directly threatened their capital.

The native state, Kievan Rus, did not occupy a dominant place in the mind of the prince, but seemed to him only a part (and not the most important one) of the great Slavic empire, which he planned to create on the Danube. The people of Kiev reproached their prince: "You, prince, are looking for someone else's land, but you neglect your own." And Svyatoslav only confirmed the correctness of their reproach, saying to his mother and the boyars: "It is not pleasant for me to be in Kyiv."

Paper against coronavirus 03.12.2020

In the Czech Republic, scientists have invented a special paper that destroys various types of viruses, including the new coronavirus. The researchers hoped that representatives of the Treasury, as well as enterprises printing documents of national importance, would be interested in their discovery. But it turned out that there is much more demand for such paper in ordinary hospitals.

Previously, it was experimentally proved that coronavirus persists on paper for a day. On a novelty presented by the Czech Institute of Chemical Processes, viruses die within half an hour. The secret is that during production, a special composition with zinc and silver is added to the paper.

Initially, the researchers believed that their paper could be used to print banknotes, certificates, transport tickets. Now it has become clear that such a sphere of use is real, but much more new paper is in demand in hospitals: you can write medical prescriptions on it, use it for pasting walls in sterile wards. Even hospital sterile paper medicine stands will greatly reduce the viral and bacterial load.

Compared to sprays and liquid antiseptics, paper has an undeniable advantage: it works constantly, for many years, until it rots itself. By increasing the content of the antiseptic additive in the paper, it is possible to make the viruses lose their virulence faster. So, scientists believe that in the future it is possible to bring the time of destruction of the coronavirus to five minutes. In addition to viruses, such paper will also be fatal for some common types of bacteria, for example, for Staphylococcus aureus, which causes sore throats and purulent skin lesions.
