How many types of climate are there?

There are many different types of climate on Earth. By the way, climate is a combination of readings of temperature, humidity, wind and sunlight in a certain place for a certain period. The climates of the world can be classified according to the geographical latitude of a given area and the plants that grow there. Different types of plants require different amounts of moisture and heat for their growth. Therefore, the vegetation of a certain area tells us about the temperature and precipitation over a long period of time. Basically, there are five main types of climate, which are divided into many subtypes.

There are tropical, subtropical, mid-latitude, high-latitude and high-mountain climates. We find a tropical climate in areas between 30° north and 30° south latitude. Tropical rainforests (nearest the equator) are warm and humid all year round. In the tropical zone, there are: tropical humid continental climate; tropical savannas, where the climate is too dry for forests; tropical steppes (where it is still drier) and a tropical desert climate.

Subtropical climates prevail between 30 and 40 degrees north and south latitude. Here we meet the Mediterranean climate, which is characterized by hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters; and a humid subtropical climate with hot summers and mild winters, with sufficient rainfall in all seasons, which is favorable for the growth of forests. The mid-latitude climate is typical for the zone between 40 and 60 degrees north and south latitude. This includes the maritime climate of the west coast of North America; cool steppe and cool desert climates; humid continental climates, each characterized by different vegetation and varying amounts of rainfall.

High-latitude climates are characteristic of the zone from 60 degrees north and south latitude to the poles. It is very cold here in winter and cool in summer. On this territory there is a taiga climate region (where it is very cold in winter); tundra climate, on the territory of which only grasses, mosses and lichens can grow; and a polar climate where only huge glaciers exist. Alpine climate is typical for areas high in the mountains throughout the Earth, including the equator.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Music speakers LG XBoom XL7 and XL5 17.03.2023

LG has announced two large format music speakers - XBoom XL7 and XL5.

The LG XBoom XL7 weighs 14,5 kg and measures 31 x 31,5 x 70 cm. It is equipped with wheels and a retractable handle. A subwoofer and a pair of 2,5 tweeters are installed inside. The total power is 250W.

The music column received a Pixel LED LED panel that can display animations, text and images, and can also pulsate to the beat of the music being played. LG says the XBoom XL7 can run for 20 hours and charges in 3,5 hours. You can set up the column through the XBoom mobile application.

The LG XBoom XL 5 is a more compact music speaker weighing 12 kg and measuring 28,2 x 59 x 28,2 mm. It is also equipped with two 2,5 tweeters, but the size of the woofer is reduced to 6,5. The power is 200 watts.

Despite the fact that the weight has decreased by less than 3 kg, the column has neither wheels nor a handle, so it will have to be carried by hand. In addition, the XBoom XL 5 does not have a Pixel LED and runs out of battery after 12 hours of use.

Both new items received support for SBC and AAC codecs. To connect smartphones, you can use not only Bluetooth, but also USB. The case of each column has protection against water on IPX4.

The Wireless Party Link function allows you to synchronize music playback on multiple LG devices.
