What is a bachelor's degree?

Students who graduate from a UK college or university receive a bachelor's degree. If a student majored in the humanities, they receive a Bachelor of Arts degree. The one who devotes himself to other sciences becomes a bachelor of natural sciences.

Many people do not stop at this stage and continue to learn further. They reach the next degree - Master of Arts or Master of Science. Those of them who, continuing to study further, will carry out research work, the result of which will be a dissertation showing their ability for independent research, become a doctor of philosophy.

Other types of degrees are awarded to people completing a professional course of study, such as studying medicine or law. However, they often have to pass special examinations before starting practical work. The modern education system is so specialized that college and university graduates earn degrees in agronomy, pharmaceuticals, construction, and many other professions.

A degree is not sought to brag about, although it is an achievement in itself. It often happens that only those who have one or another degree can engage in a certain type of activity, for example, to be a doctor.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
