Where did fairy tales come from?

When you read and enjoy fairy tales, you assume that the author created them. If the book was written in today's time, it is. Did you know that in ancient times people did not invent fairy tales? The great storytellers simply recounted what they heard. And the stories have existed in this way for thousands of years. Many fairy tales were created on the basis of real events, thanks to human memory. But, of course, one should think about the content of the story in order to determine how it could actually be.

A person is attracted by everything unknown, mysterious. As a result, in the transmission of stories from parents to children, events that were completely ordinary over time were described as almost supernatural. Although fairy tales had their origins in real, real life, there is no doubt that people also believed in miracles.

The characters of fairy tales were creatures similar to humans, but possessing magical powers. They could become invisible or change shape, often appearing as animals or birds. They could penetrate walls and other solid objects. They could predict the future. Some were immortal, others lived for hundreds of years.

Today, everyone imagines fairy-tale characters in the form of tiny creatures with the thinnest wings, which poets write about. Others think that there were different kinds of magical heroes. Some were an inch in size, others were several feet high, and still others were human. And not everyone had wings. They didn't need wings at all. They could turn a stick into a horse or ride a magical horse.

The names and types of fairy-tale characters, probably existing in different countries, are familiar to us - fairies, elves, gnomes, brownies, goblins, trolls, and so on.

Random interesting fact from the Great Encyclopedia:

What remains of the ancient temple of Jerusalem?

Jerusalem is first mentioned in the second millennium BC. According to legend, it was founded by the king of Judea, David, the same one who defeated the giant Goliath in his youth. He united all the Jewish tribes and created a state with its capital in Jerusalem.

And in 960 BC, again, as the legend tells, King Solomon built a temple in Jerusalem, which became the spiritual center of all Jews. But the temple was destroyed in 568 BC by the king of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar, and the Jews were taken into slavery by him. Subsequently, the Persian king Cyrus allowed the Jews to return to their land, and in 515 BC they completed the construction of the Second Temple. But this temple was also destroyed in 70 AD during the war with the Roman Empire.

Only part of the western wall that surrounded the Temple Mount, on top of which stood the Temple of Jerusalem, has survived to this day. This part of the wall, 156 meters long, is made of huge stone monoliths and is called the Western Wall, or the Wailing Wall. It is the national shrine of the entire Jewish people.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
