Phraseologism: Cogs.
Meaning: 1. About non-initiative performers in any business, enterprise. 2. The word is a symbol of the dismissive, consumer attitude of those in power towards their people, towards the "masses".
Origin: From the speech of I. V. Stalin (1878-1953) at a reception in honor of the participants in the Victory Parade in 1945: "I raise a toast to simple, ordinary, modest people, to the "cogs" that keep our great mechanism in a state of activity" .

About people immersed in their pursuits or dreams that are far from reality (jokingly ironic).

LG has announced an updated version of its high-tech air-purifying face mask called LG PuriCare. The new version received built-in speakers and a microphone.
LG first announced the PuriCare mask last year. It uses replaceable air filters and built-in fans to filter the air. LG says the new version has a smaller and lighter motor, as well as built-in microphones and speakers that amplify the wearer's voice. The first version of the mask muffled the wearer's voice quite a bit.
The technology, which LG calls VoiceON, "automatically recognizes when users are talking and amplifies their voice through the built-in speaker." The new LG PuriCare mask weighs 94 grams, has a built-in 1 mAh battery and charges in two hours via USB. LG claims that it is quite comfortable to wear continuously for about 000 hours.
LG does not claim that the mask will in any way protect against coronavirus, although there were such hints at the time of the announcement of the first version. Some air purifiers and masks trap particles the size of the virus that causes COVID-19. However, one cannot say that PuriCare protects against the coronavirus without scientific studies of this particular product or more detailed information about the types of filters that are used in the mask.
