New line of current sensors

Honeywell has announced a new line of CSCA-A direct amplification current sensors based on the Hall effect.

The sensors are primarily intended for low cost applications where the lowest cost is the most important factor. The sensors are ideal for low cost motor controllers, switching power supplies and welding machines.

Despite the very low cost, they retain the high performance and functionality inherent in ordinary representatives of this product class. Mainly it is the ability to measure direct, alternating and pulsed currents, high insulation voltage, low power consumption, compact size and measurement current range from 50 A to 600 A.

A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. Femtosecond lasers are often used for finishing critical parts such as arterial stents or creating microscopic relief on them, micron or even nanometer. Femtosecond lasers are very good: by concentrating energy in the shortest pulses, they do not allow heat to spread far beyond the illuminated spot. However, the concentration of energy can be excessively large, then the beam has to be weakened, and a significant part of the energy is wasted. Processing with such lasers is carried out point by point, scanning the surface of the product with a beam. This requires a lot of time and energy.

Spanish engineers from Jaime I University in Castello, led by Gladys Minguez-Vega, decided to get rid of both shortcomings. Using a specially designed diffraction matrix, they divided the laser beam into 52 beams. As a result, the energy of each of them has fallen to the desired level, and treatment can be carried out with all beams at the same time. It turns out 52 times faster, and if you try, you can raise the performance even a hundred times.
