Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Mining farm with solar panels 17.04.2022

Fintech startup Block, founded by Twitter founder D. Dorsey, has agreed to cooperate with Blockstream cryptocurrency company and electric car manufacturer Tesla. The partners intend to create a maning farm in Texas. Electricity for its operation will be generated using solar panels.

Tesla's interests in the project will be represented by a subsidiary of Gambit Energy Storage. At the moment, its employees are busy developing an energy storage system. Its power will be over 100 mW. It will be built along with a mining farm in Angleton.

The choice for Texas was not accidental. It is one of the leaders in the US in terms of solar and wind generation. Musk became interested in the cryptocurrency business early last year. He allowed Tesla to sell cars for BTC. This circumstance led to a significant increase in the rate of the main cryptocurrency.

Last year, Dorsey promised to integrate the Bitcoin virtual currency into the Twitter microblogging service. In particular, users will be able to use BTC to make donations to their favorite bloggers.
