Focus Description:

Several ways to find a card in a deck that a spectator memorized and returned.

Focus secret:

We ask the spectator to choose a card by unfolding the deck in front of him with a fan. If you have a long card in the deck, then you need to force it in a known way. If you have a conical deck in your hands, then you simply turn over the card when you return it to the deck. After that, shuffling the deck as much as you like, you can easily find the right card.

You can change the ending of this trick. You hold the cards vertically between your thumb and ring finger. Ask someone to count to three. On the count of three, you drop all the cards, except for the one you spotted, because its edges protrude.

There is another kind of such focus. You ask the spectator to put the deck in his pocket, and then you draw the desired card from his pocket. This trick with sleight of hand can be performed with an unprepared deck. In this case, when the card is returned to the deck, you move it up with the help of a volt, hide it in the palm of your hand and allow the spectator to shuffle the deck.

When the deck is returned to you, you put the card on top and hide the deck in someone's pocket. You just have to get the deck and open the top card.

You can remove the deck on the desired card and on a simple deck. To do this, you do everything as described, and hide the card in the palm of your hand. Then you put the card on top, take the deck in your left hand and, as it were, remove it with your left hand.

You are actually doing volts. To do this, you force the bottom of the deck to slide to the left, with the fingers of the left hand opening slightly to allow room for the top to go down and the bottom to go up. You hold in your left hand the cards that the audience thinks are the bottom of the deck, but in fact it is the top, and it remains only to turn over its top card.

Another good ending to this trick. You can throw the deck up and catch the desired card. To do this, you force a long card to the spectator. By shuffling the deck, you remove it on a long card, but do not show it, but simply transfer the lower part of the deck to the top. The selected card is at the bottom.

Take the deck in your right hand face down and quickly shift it to your left, hiding the bottom card in the palm of your right hand. Slightly unfold the cards and throw them up, catching with your right hand, at the same time bringing the hidden card to your fingers. Spectators will be sure that you caught her among the falling cards.

There is a variant of this trick without the long card and forcing. To do this, as well as to remove a card from your pocket, after returning the card to the deck, you make a volt, transfer the card to the top and hide it in your palm. After that, shuffle the deck. Then you put the card on top of the deck and, putting it back in your palm, complete the trick as described above.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Announcement of PCI Express 5.0 18.06.2017

The PCI-SIG group, which is responsible for developing new PCI Express standards, has identified 32 GT/s as the next step in increasing the bandwidth of the interface of the same name. A value of 32 GT/s (billion transfers per second) means twice the speed compared to 16 GT/s PCI Express 4.0. It will become relevant with the future approval of the PCI Express 5.0 standard, which companies involved in the development of artificial intelligence, machine learning, games, visual computing, storage infrastructure and devices, and networks are already interested in today.

It is expected that the final PCI Express 5.0 specification will be made public in 2019, but for now, PCI-SIG developers, together with companies that have allocated their specialists for a group, are testing an early revision of the standard - 0.3.

PCI Express 5.0 technology represents an evolution of the standard and will bring with it an increase in bandwidth up to 32GT/s, which in turn will exceed the needs of the industry," said Al Yanes, President and Chairman of the Board of PCI-SIG, Al Yanes.
If it took PCI-SIG specialists a long seven years to develop the PCI Express 4.0 standard, then the new specification will be released in two years. Significant PCI-E "feature enhancements" and ever-improving semiconductor technologies have contributed to speeding up the process. With PCI Express 5.0, high-speed network connections of 400 Gb Ethernet and InfiniBand (200 Gb/s) in full duplex mode will reach a maximum of 128 GB/s throughput. Increasing the data transfer rate, among other things, will allow developing more powerful graphic solutions and expanding the capabilities of server platforms.

"With the advent of the era of big data, high-performance systems and next-generation non-volatile memory, storage devices are becoming extremely power hungry when it comes to performance," said Amber Huffman, President of the NVM Express Consortium. "We are pleased to see that PCI-SIG continues to evolve the interface, enabling enterprise and data center NVMe SSDs to take advantage of the scalability of the PCI-E architecture for both higher throughput and lower latency."
