EFFECTIVE FOCUSES AND THEIR CLUES The spectator chooses the card you want. Focus Secret Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues Focus Description: This technique is called "forcing the card." It allows you to force the spectator to take the card you want, with the complete illusion of his free choice. Focus secret: This card should end up at the bottom of the deck, and you remember it. If the card is not there, then you move it down. After that, we take the deck in the left hand and put the little finger in its middle, as with a volte. We perform a volt according to the first method, but, before combining the deck, we again divide it into parts with the little finger of the left hand. Now both parts of the deck on the audience side are combined, but separated by the little finger on your side. The card you wish to place lies at the bottom of the top half, on your little finger. Next we will work with both hands. The thumbs are at the top and the rest are at the bottom of the deck. We fan out the cards from left to right and invite the viewer to choose a card. We hold the left little finger on the front side of the card being slipped. If it is more convenient for you to do this with your right hand, then keep your right little finger on the card, which also lies under the cards. As soon as the spectator reaches out to select a card, you immediately move the cards with your thumb so that the card you need is in front of the spectator's fingers at the exact moment when he takes the card. By accurately performing all the described actions, there is no doubt that the spectator will have exactly the card you need in the hands of the viewer. At first glance this seems very difficult, but in reality it is not. A novice magician should not rush when forcing a card. When a card is first offered, the deck should be slightly unfolded, and the card you need lies under a dozen others. The spectator's hesitation when choosing a card gives you the time you need. You just have to coordinate your subsequent movement with slipping the card with the movement of the spectator when taking the card. If you miscalculated and the card passed under the spectator’s fingers, then there is no need to get lost. You again place your little finger on the card you need and close the deck with the words that he takes a long time to choose and is difficult to please. And repeat it all over again. Quite quickly you can learn to force a card to the spectator. If there is a spectator who abruptly changes his movement when drawing a card and picks up another one, then there are many ways to find out which card was taken. We will dwell on these methods later. If in the course of the trick it is necessary for the viewer to choose a particular card, then another additional deck of cards can be used, consisting only of the required card. For example, if this card is the queen of hearts, then the entire deck should consist of only queens of hearts. When your trick requires the selection of more than one card, then such a deck may consist of two or more groups of similar cards. In this case, identical cards must lie together. With such a deck, it is not difficult to force the spectator to choose one card from each group.
