Then ask one of the spectators to come up to you and guess any number. Let him write it down without showing you. For convenience, you can limit yourself to a three-digit number, but this is not important, since you can use a calculator.

Next, ask the viewer to multiply the intended number by 9. And then add your age to the resulting number. Let the viewer write down the result so as not to forget.

Then you say:

- I do not know the number that was made up, nor your age. But in order to tune into the wave of your thoughts, I need to find out the last number that you got.

The spectator calls you this number.

Next, you need to do some mental calculations. To prevent the audience from guessing what you are doing, pretend that you are "attuning to the wave of thoughts" of the viewer who is standing in front of you: for example, close your eyes and stretch your arms in the direction of his head, or walk around him, making passes with his hands, or put finger to forehead - what your fantasy tells you.

The calculations you need to make are simple. First of all, you need to add up the numbers of the number that the viewer called you. The result is another number. Repeat with the resulting numbers the operation of adding their digits until you get a single-digit number.

The age of the viewer will be a multiple of 9 plus whatever number you got. Your task now is to estimate how old your viewer looks. Suppose, as a result of all the additions, you get the number 5. Your viewer may be (1x9 + 5) = 14 years old, (2x9 + 5) = 23 years old, and so on. It's not that hard to tell a 14 year old from a 23 year old, is it?

If you are not sure about the age of the viewer, especially if he is a middle-aged person, then in no case should you guess "with a margin", it is better, on the contrary, to underestimate his age. For example, you are not sure if a person is 42 years old (9x4+6) or 51 (9x5+6). Say 42! If you make a mistake, you can always say: "Sorry, I made a mistake, focusing not on the wave of your thoughts, but on your appearance! You look 42 years old!" The trick will fail, but you will make the viewer happy, and this is much more important than a spectacular trick.

Examples

Your viewer guessed the number 5645. After multiplying by 9, it turned out 50805. Then he adds his age to this number - let's say he is 23 years old. It turns out 50828. We carry out the addition operation: 5+0+8+2+8=23. It turned out to be a two-digit number. We repeat the addition operation again: 2+3=5. The result is a single-digit number, so we complete the addition operations at this point.

Then we calculate and look: can this person be 9x1 + 5 = 14 years old? Of course not, he doesn't look like a teenager. We continue to select: 9x2 + 5 = 23. It seems! And we tell him his age.

Another example. Your viewer announces the number 89 to you. 8+9=17, 1+7=8. Your viewer looks like a primary school student. How old is he? Very simple: he is 9x0 + 8 = 8 years old! (and the number he guessed is 9).

Focus secret:

The number 9 has unique properties: for example, any number multiplied by 9 gives a number whose digits sum to 9.

Example. Multiply the number 7721 by 9. We get 69489. The sum of the digits of this number is 6+9+4+8+9=27.

Moreover, the sum of the digits of the resulting number can be reduced to 9. In our example, the result is the number 27, the sum of the digits of which is exactly 9.

In this trick, the viewer thinks of a number and multiplies it by 9. In doing so, he practically eliminates the number he has conceived and reduces it to 9. When he adds his age to it, and you reduce the result to a single digit, then this figure plus some number that is a multiple of 9, and there is his age. Add 9 to the resulting figure. If that doesn't give a reasonable result, add 9s until you get the age your viewer looks like.
