Focus Description:

There are three handkerchiefs on the magician's illusion table: red, blue and yellow. The performer takes a red handkerchief and puts it in the left pocket of his trousers so that the tip of the handkerchief protrudes from the pocket. In the right pocket of his trousers, he puts a blue handkerchief in the same way. Spectators see that a red handkerchief is sticking out of one pocket of the performer, and a blue handkerchief is sticking out of the other. After that, the magician takes a yellow handkerchief and shows it to the audience. He rolls it into a ball, shifts it several times from one hand to the other, and then opens both palms - the yellow handkerchief is gone.

Now the artist takes the tips of the red and blue handkerchiefs sticking out of the pockets and begins to pull them in one direction or the other. If the performer pulls a red handkerchief, then a blue one goes inside the pocket, and vice versa.

After doing this several times, the magician releases the tip of one of the handkerchiefs, and with the other hand pulls out three handkerchiefs tied together. Moreover, in the middle of the tied handkerchiefs, between red and blue, there is yellow, the same one that disappeared from the magician's hands.

Focus secret:

You will need six handkerchiefs made of light silk - two red, two yellow and two blue, 40x40 cm in size. Three handkerchiefs - one red, one yellow and one blue - must be tied diagonally to each other in advance. The remaining three handkerchiefs are placed on the illusion table. To disguise the connected secret handkerchiefs, additional through cuts are made in the pockets of the performer's trousers.

During the demonstration of the trick, the performer pushes a red handkerchief deep into his pocket and leaves the corner of the secret handkerchief sticking out. In the same way, he pawns a blue handkerchief, and his secret double sticks out of his pocket. The magician rolls the yellow handkerchief into a ball, clutching it in the palm of his hand, and pretends to shift it from hand to hand. Then he quickly turns around and slips the yellow handkerchief discreetly into his jacket pocket.

After that, the performer can open both palms and show the audience that the handkerchief has disappeared. And then he continues to demonstrate focus.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

The robot will find water on the moon 30.10.2012

Astrobotic Technology Corporation has completed development of a full-size prototype of Polaris, a solar-powered robot that will search for water ice at the lunar poles. Polaris will be able to drill into the lunar surface and work in areas with long, harsh shadows and low sun above the horizon. Even though Polaris is a prototype, it has the same configuration as the rover that will land on the Moon's surface. The prototype will allow the Astrobotic team to conduct the necessary testing and improve the robot's vision and navigation systems, as well as its software, in the near future.

"This is the first rover designed specifically for lunar ice drilling," said William Whittaker, CEO and founder of CMU's Robotics Center. The technology needed to drill on the lunar surface was already being developed at the center, but none of the previous robots were planned to be sent into space.

Based on observations from NASA and India, it seems likely that there is a significant amount of water ice at the Moon's poles. This ice could be a source of water, fuel and oxygen for future expeditions. To find this ice, the rover must operate as close to the dark poles as possible, but still far enough away to be able to be powered by solar panels. Polaris has three large solar arrays to capture the light of the sun low on the horizon. On average, they are capable of generating about 250 watts of electricity.

The device weighs 150 kg and can accommodate drilling equipment and other payloads weighing up to 70 kg. The speed of its movement on two-foot wheels will be about 1 foot per second. The robot itself is made from aerospace-grade lightweight composite structural materials.

Scientists expect Polaris to drill 10 to 100 holes during the time it searches for ice. He will have about 10 days at his disposal, given that the lunar day lasts 14 days. However, if the robot proves capable of surviving the long, cold moonlit night, the search mission will be extended indefinitely.
