EFFECTIVE FOCUSES AND THEIR CLUES Magic Aquarium. Focus Secret Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues Focus Description: The illusionist places an empty aquarium on the table and runs his hand inside to prove it. The assistant hands the performer a transparent jug of water. The magician pours water into the aquarium and asks him to bring him more water. The second, third, fourth jug is served... The audience sees that the aquarium is filled to the top with clean water. Taking a scarf from the table, the performer covers the aquarium with it so that everyone can clearly see the legs on which it stands, as well as the gap between the table and the bottom of the vessel. It is clear to the public: the bottom of the aquarium does not communicate with the table in any way. But then the magician pulls off the cover - and the audience sees fish swimming among the aquatic plants in the aquarium (Fig. 91).
Props: Aquarium with a prepared bottom. Several aquarium fish and plants. A simple little cover. Focus secret: The secret of the focus is clear from Fig. 92, which shows the mechanics of the bottom of the aquarium.
Under the cover of the side boards there is a curtain 1 rotating on axles, which is made of waterproof material. So that the curtain can easily slide, roller rollers 2 are embedded in the long side walls, easily rotating in the axes and at the same time bending the curtain; the curtain is freely wound onto roller 3 from roller 4. Roller 3 has a spiral spring inside, which always tends to pull it to the left. Thus, the roller on the axes rotates counterclockwise. The right roller 4 is made of wood. It can rotate freely on its axes. A narrow steel strip from a small tape measure is wound around the edges of the roller, which runs inside along the edges of the aquarium and is invisible to spectators. One end of it is attached to the roller 4 near the walls of the aquarium, and the other to the side edges of the curtain 1. The curtain itself on the right side has a strong strip to which it is tightly riveted in several places. The steel strip is 2 mm thick and 5 mm wide. The curtain is made 16 centimeters longer than the aquarium, its left end is tightly attached to roller 3 and wound around it. The remaining strips from the tape measure are also wound onto the roller. Then the roller is firmly inserted into the sockets, in which its axis is held motionless. Inside the right side post there is a flexible steel wire, to the lower end of which a pin is attached (Fig. 92). Using a spring, it lowers down into the hole made in the right roller 2 a. Thus, the rewinding of the curtain onto roller 3 is inhibited. For this to happen, you need to lightly pull wire 7 in the middle of the upper right side of the aquarium; the rod will come out of roller 2a, as well as from the hole made for it in curtain 1; the curtain will immediately begin to rewind onto the left roller 3, held back by steel strips 6. Having rewound onto the left roller, the curtain opens the bottom of the aquarium, where pre-planted fish and plants sit in the water. As soon as the curtain opens the bottom of the aquarium, the fish will immediately rise up and swim in the aquarium, and the plants will straighten out as they float up. To charge the curtain, a tongue 6 is made in the middle of its right end, using which you can wind the curtain from roller 3 to 4. In this case, with your right hand you need to wind the remaining tapes onto the right roller 4. When the curtain completely covers the bottom of the aquarium, you need to insert a spring pin into the hole of the curtain and video 2 a. Now all the mechanics of the aquarium are ready for display. If you slightly pull the wire of pin 7, the spring of the left roller will work at lightning speed, wind the curtain around itself, and the bottom of the aquarium will be open; the fish will swim up, and the audience will think that the aquarium has somehow inexplicably filled. They will not notice the moment the curtain opens, since everything happens under the cover of a scarf-bedspread. Water for the fish is poured to the bottom of the aquarium right up to the curtain. The mechanics operate reliably, but it is necessary to carefully wipe the rubbing parts to protect them from rust. After the performance, take out the fish, drain the water, wipe well and dry the aquarium. Author: Vadimov A.A.
