EFFECTIVE FOCUSES AND THEIR CLUES Finding a card chosen by the viewer in the deck (three ways). The Secret of Focus Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues The first method Focus Description: The magician gives the audience a deck of cards to shuffle. Then he carefully shuffles it himself again and places the deck on the table; asks someone to take out one card and show it to the audience. During this time, the magician turns away and does not see the card. He asks to put it on the table, side up, and covers it with the entire deck. Then he carefully shuffles the deck, removes the top card and shows it to the audience. The card turns out to be the same one that the spectator chose and noticed. Props: A simple deck of cards. Focus secret: While shuffling the cards, the magician notices the bottom one, then places the deck on the table. The spectator places the selected card under it. The performer carefully shuffles the deck again, ensuring at all times that the bottom two cards are together. Shuffling, he moves both of these cards to the top of the deck, and then shifts the top one (under which the chosen one was placed) down. At the top remains the card noticed by the viewer. You can diversify this trick by placing the noticed garth on the top of the deck so that one of its side edges protrudes to the side by two centimeters. If you then throw the entire deck onto the table, side up, the desired card will turn over by itself due to air resistance against its extended edge. second method Focus Description: The magician gives the audience a deck of cards, asks them to shuffle it and pick it up. After that, having taken the deck, the performer invites someone to take out one card, remember it and put it in the middle of the deck. The illusionist lifts the deck and throws it on the floor. The card chosen by the spectator, turned face up, turns out to be to the side of the whole deck, lying face up. Props: A simple deck of cards. Focus secret: When the spectator has drawn a card, the magician quickly divides the deck into two parts. In his right hand he holds half the deck motionless, on which he asks the spectator to place the card he noticed. With his left hand, the performer bends the second half of the deck in an arc, as in the “bridge” manipulation. Holding half the deck between the thumb and the other four fingers, he slightly moves the thumb towards the others, bending the deck at the same time, and covers it with the palm of the same hand. When the cards bend upward with their narrow edges, the magician covers with them the card placed by the spectator on half of the deck in his right hand. The illusionist removes the deck, but in fact moves the bent half of the deck down. Thus, the noticed card turns out to be on top. The bent half is imperceptibly straightened, and the selected card is moved sideways by 2 cm and the entire deck is thrown onto the floor, speckled up. The selected card will turn over due to the resistance of the air flow hitting its edge when the deck falls, and will fly off to the side. Everyone sees that the card noticed by the spectator “turned over on its own” and “jumped out” from the deck. A third method Focus Description: The magician, having carefully shuffled the deck, places it on the table with its ends facing up and invites the viewer to arrange the cards into two piles. The performer takes one part for himself, and asks the viewer to take the second; at the same time, he offers to choose any card and show it, unnoticed by the magician, to everyone present at the session. Then the illusionist offers to place the selected card on the table, side up, and cover it with the rest of the cards in the spectator’s possession. After this, the magician places his cards on top of the half-deck placed by the spectator and asks the top card to be placed in the middle of the deck. Then he asks the spectator to place the top card again at the bottom of the deck, and the next one after it again in the middle of the deck. When all this has been done, the performer picks up the cards, spreads them out like a fan, and immediately unmistakably names the card chosen by the spectator. Props: A simple deck of cards. Focus secret: When a magician is given half a deck and he invites the spectator to choose any card, he turns away for a few seconds so that no one thinks that he is spying. At this time, he quietly remembers the second card from the top. After the spectator places his half of the deck on the table, the illusionist places his half on top and asks the spectator to put the top card in the middle of the deck, and the second (noted by the magician) - under the bottom of the deck (under the card chosen and noticed by the spectator). After this, another card is placed in the middle, then the deck is lifted and unfolded, speckled down, fan-shaped, starting from bottom right to left - counterclockwise. The performer quietly searches with his eyes for the card he has noticed; To the left of it there will always be a card chosen by the spectator. Author: Vadimov A.A.
