EFFECTIVE FOCUSES AND THEIR CLUES Flying card. Focus Secret Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues Focus Description: The magician shows both hands empty. A light, barely noticeable wave of the hand - a card appears in it. In our case, this is the eight of hearts (Fig. 73).
A slight wave of both hands at the same time - the card disappears from the left and appears in the right. Again, light waves with both hands - and the card disappears from the right and appears in the left hand. This is repeated several times. In conclusion, the card disappears completely and the magician shows the audience both hands empty. Props: Two simple cards (in our case, two eights of hearts). Focus secret: The secret is very simple, but in order to show the number well, a long, thorough training in front of the mirror is necessary. The whole secret lies in sleight of hand. One card is hidden behind the back of the hand, and the other is shown in the palm of your hand. Then the card from the back is transferred to the palm, and from the palm to the back of the hand. Let's talk about manipulating a card in one hand, for example, in the right. Having mastered this technique well, it is easy to do the same with the card in the other hand. The card is taken with the index and thumb (Fig. 74, A). A small wave of the hand centimeters 6 down and then 10 up. During the swing, the following is done with the card: bend the middle and ring fingers and lightly press the card against them, pressing with the thumb, as shown in Fig. 74, B. With the pressure of the thumb, the card is forced to slide up to the second joints of the middle and ring fingers. Then they immediately bend the index and little fingers, capturing the corners of the map between the index and middle and between the ring and little fingers (Fig. 74, B). Now the fingers are pressed as tightly as possible to each other. The performer unbends his palm - the card is on its back side and is not visible to the audience (Fig. 74. D). By doing everything in the reverse order, you will force the card to "move" back to the palm of your hand in its original position.
This manipulation must be done very quickly. Light waving of the hand is used only as a distraction to hide the movement of the card and fingers from the audience. It is necessary to train both the right and left hands equally in manipulating the card. Before demonstrating the trick, the performer places both cards on the back of the palms (Fig. 74, D) and shows the audience empty hands. Then he transfers both cards to the palm and shows the back of the palms. Making a slight movement with his right hand, the magician, as it were, catches a card from the air and shows it to the audience (see Fig. 74, A). He puts it in his palm, and then everything goes according to the description. The trick is interesting because with a skillful display it can be repeated several times. If you wish, you can also reveal to the audience the "secret" of the trick: demonstrate the technique by which the card disappears and appears, but this must be done very cleanly, quickly, so that they can appreciate the technique of your show.
