Focus Description:

On the stage, on a small table, there is a telephone set and a small stand - a semi-frame for envelopes. The magician says that modern technology has stepped far forward, our satellites have thundered all over the world. Not a curiosity is now a space rocket. The magician says that he is no stranger to technology and personally made a great improvement to a simple telephone, which he will now demonstrate. With these words, he gives the assistant a tray on which lie a stack of envelopes, a notebook and a pencil. The assistant goes to the audience, and the illusionist asks the audience to write on a piece of notebook any question they want to get an answer to. The sheet asks to be folded, put into an envelope and sealed. Spectators write, the assistant collects sealed envelopes with questions on a tray. After collecting the envelopes, he goes to the table and puts a tray of envelopes on it.

The magician says that with the help of the phone, which is on the table, you can find out what is written in it and get a ready answer without opening the envelope. He emphasizes that he will know the content of the question written on paper sealed in an envelope. The performer takes the top envelope from the tray and inserts it into the stand. The audience can see the envelope well. The illusionist is given a chair, he sits down near the table, picks up the telephone receiver, puts it to his ear and says:

"The first question: what will the weather be like tomorrow? I answer: if there is no inclement weather, it will be clear, sunny. Let's check!" With these words, putting the receiver on the telephone, he takes an envelope from the stand, tears it open and, taking out a note, reads: "What will the weather be like tomorrow?"

"Was there such a question?" - he says, turning to the auditorium.

"Yes, there was!" - answer from the public.

The magician, putting the opened envelope aside, takes the next one, inserts it into the stand, picks up the handset and says the content of the question written on the sheet in the second envelope. Then, just as in the first case, he answers the question, opens the envelope, reads the entry and asks the audience to confirm the correctness of what was written. Do the same with the next envelope.

Thus, from 8 to 12 questions are announced. The performer all the time pretends that he receives questions and answers by phone. However, when he takes the receiver off the hook for the first time, the cord of the receiver jumps out of the telephone in full view of everyone, while the magician, "not noticing" this, seriously continues to demonstrate the number. Having finished the trick, the illusionist takes the phone, passes it to the approaching assistant, and only then "notices" that the cord has jumped out of the device.

"It doesn't mean anything," says the artist, "because the questions were read correctly, and this is the most important thing."

Telephone desktop device.

Stand - semi-frame for inserting envelopes.

Tray; on it are two dozen envelopes, a notepad and a pencil.

Focus secret:

The secret is very ingenious and at the same time simple. In advance, one question is written on a piece of notebook paper and sealed in an envelope. It is placed on a tray, under a stack of empty envelopes, into which the audience then seals their sheets. One of the magician's assistants should sit in the hall, who confirms the correctness of the first question.

Show. The assistant, collecting envelopes with questions from the audience, puts them one on top of the other on his own envelope prepared in advance, which is below, under the whole pack. The written question is announced first, while in fact it lies at the bottom. Wishing to "check the correctness", the magician tears open the envelope taken from the stand and reads what was written to himself, but says aloud the content of his first question. After confirmation from the audience, he announces the content of the question he has just read. Thus, the performer recognizes all the records, and the audience is convinced that he, in some way unknown to them, has mastered the secret hidden in the envelopes. The viewers can only confirm the correctness of what was said.

When performing this number, you should never chase quantity. A well-executed trick makes a big impression on the audience, and the episode with a torn cord makes her look for a clue not in the phone. The magician, calmly opening the envelopes, reads the question in advance, and it seems to the audience that he tore the envelope after he gave the correct answer.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
