EFFECTIVE FOCUSES AND THEIR CLUES Self-assembly tablecloth. Focus Secret Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues Focus Description: On the stage, in addition to a small table, there is also a chair with a solid back. Having greeted those present, the artist takes a small tablecloth lying there from the table and, going up to the ramp, shows the audience both sides of it, throws it up and catches it, thereby demonstrating that this is an ordinary tablecloth without "secrets". Then he throws a tablecloth over the back of a chair and returns to the ramp. Addressing the audience, the presenter says that in front of them is not an ordinary tablecloth, but a "self-assembled tablecloth", which is described only in fairy tales. "I see that some comrades are smiling, they do not believe me. Well, well, let's see what they say later." The artist takes a salt shaker from the table and, having sprinkled the tablecloth with "magic powder", hides the salt shaker in the right pocket of his jacket. Then, grabbing the center of the tablecloth with his left hand, he lifts it up. The tablecloth, falling in folds, forms a kind of cone. The magician's right hand penetrates inside this cone, but not through the gaps between the folds, but always from the bottom of the cone, and the artist takes out a plastic bag from there, tied with a bright ribbon, which is filled with nuts. The package is placed on the table, the artist, holding the tablecloth at two corners, turns it, showing both sides to the audience, and then throws it over the back of the chair and, taking a salt shaker from his pocket, sprinkles the tablecloth with "magic powder". Then he puts the salt shaker on the table and, taking a bag of nuts, goes down to the hall and treats the guys. "Well, skeptics, are nuts good?" he asks his viewers. Focus secret: The trick is very simple, and its secret is clear from Fig. 20, where you can see that the bag of nuts is hung in advance by the magician on a small wire hook (painted to match the wood) behind the back of the chair. Throwing a tablecloth over a chair, the artist tried to put its center over the hook, and when he took off the tablecloth, he grabbed the hook with it in his left hand; thus the nuts fell under the cone of the tablecloth.
The first time the illusionist sprinkled the tablecloth with "magic powder" in order for the public to understand that it was for this that he threw the tablecloth over the chair, and the second time he used the salt shaker so that, taking it out of his pocket, he could leave the hook there, which he had previously hid in his right hand and which he needed to get rid of. The simpler the trick, the more artistry it requires from the performer. The trick described here absolutely does not tolerate fussiness and excessive haste in execution. When rehearsing, pay special attention to this. Author: Bedarev G.K.
