Focus Description:

The magician shows an ordinary shoelace and passes it to the viewer, asking him to check it. Then he pulls out a new, unopened package of mints (each candy is a glazed ring) from his pocket and invites another spectator to open it. Then he threads the string through the holes of several candies and passes the ends of the string to two spectators, who stretch the string with candies strung on it. Taking a handkerchief out of his pocket, the magician covers the sweets hanging in the middle of the string with it, completely hiding them from view. Putting his hands under the handkerchief, the magician magically releases the candy. The spectators are still holding the string, on which there is nothing.

Focus secret:

1. For this trick, you only need a regular shoelace and a bag of candy, which come in the form of a ring. Starting the show, you invite the viewer to check the string and show an unopened package of sweets, which is opened by a second viewer.

2. Now take one piece of candy and put it on the string.

5. Remove a handkerchief from your pocket and cover the sweets with it. The handkerchief should be spread out so that it covers your hands when you put them under the handkerchief.

7. ...break it.

8. Note. Try to break it in half rather than into small pieces that might fall to the floor. In addition, small pieces are more difficult to hide in the hand.

9. Pinch the broken candy in the half-bent fingers of the right hand so that they are completely hidden. Grab the whole sweets that have slipped off the cord with your left hand.

10. With your right hand (in which the broken candy is hidden), pull the handkerchief off the cord, at the same time exposing the open palm of your left hand with sweets to everyone.

11. Put the handkerchief in your pocket, leaving the pieces of candy there as well. Focus completed.

You met with a great trick - impromptu. Everything he needs is always easy to find. You just need to string enough candies on a cord (thread, twine) so that no one notices the absence of the one you break. This is the secret of this witty joke.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Why are prions needed? 11.10.2010

It has long been proven that some human and animal diseases, in which microscopic pores form in the brain, arise due to special proteins - prions. The most famous of these diseases is the sensational "rabies of cows" in its time.

Prions are normally present on the surface of all nerve cells, but the disease begins when some of the prions change their configuration for some unknown reason. These pathogenic molecules can infect normal ones, causing them to also reconfigure to pathogenic ones.

Why does the body need these potentially dangerous proteins? Adriano Aguzzi, a neurologist at the University of Zurich (Switzerland), genetically engineered a breed of mice devoid of prions. It turned out that in such individuals, the "isolation" of the nerves is broken, as a result, the propagation of signals along them slows down.

The insulating sheath of nerve fibers consists of myelin, a lipid-protein complex deposited by special cells. This process, apparently, is controlled by prions.
