EFFECTIVE FOCUSES AND THEIR CLUES A handkerchief from which a coin disappears (two ways). Focus secret Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues The first method Focus Description: The method of disappearing a coin or any other small object, which is described below, has a very wide application, which you will understand by going to the following sections. For the trick you need an ordinary handkerchief. Lay it out on the table. Place on the lower right corner of the handkerchief a coin of the same size as the one you will later borrow from the spectator. Cover the coin with a small square of fabric that matches the fabric of the handkerchief (preferably cut from a handkerchief of the same brand). Sew this square to the scarf on all four sides. Now the coin is hidden in a secret pocket that you arranged in the corner of the handkerchief. Focus secret: 1. Put the prepared handkerchief in your pocket or on the table. If possible, let it serve you for a while as part of your costume. Slightly worn because it has been in a breast pocket for a while, the handkerchief will subconsciously give viewers the impression of a genuine, non-props accessory. 2. Borrow a coin from the spectator, a duplicate of the one sewn into the handkerchief. Invite him to the stage and offer to mark the coin for later identification. Invite him to stand on your left and take out a handkerchief. 3. Take the borrowed coin with the tips of your index finger and thumb and hold it so that the fingertips are pointing up and the coin with the obverse or reverse facing the audience. With your right hand, cover the coin and left hand with the prepared handkerchief. The corner where the coin is sewn should be on your side of the handkerchief. 4. Take the hidden coin with the thumb and forefinger of your right hand and with your right hand put the corner with the sewn coin under the handkerchief. The sewn coin should be next to the borrowed coin. 5. At this point, you replace the borrowed coin with a sewn one by resorting to holding the coin in the palm-fingers position. Remove your left hand from under the handkerchief with a coin clutched in it. 6. Note. A borrowed coin can be withdrawn in this way with both the right and left hand - use the one that you are better at. Also take into account the procedure for the "appearance" of the coin again. 7. Now take the "secret", sewn coin with your left hand through the fabric of the handkerchief. Remove your right hand from under the handkerchief after grasping the sewn coin with the thumb and forefinger of your left hand. Then, with your right hand, twist the handkerchief under the coin. Be careful, you can not accidentally show the audience a coin that is sandwiched between the fingers and the palm of the left hand. 8. Hold the handkerchief under the coin with your right hand into a fist and invite the viewer to hold the coin covered with the handkerchief. Behave naturally and remember that the attention of the audience is riveted to the coin, which is now under the handkerchief. Ask the spectator to hold his coin through the cloth as you (a) naturally drop the borrowed coin into your pocket, or (c) place that coin in the place of its subsequent mysterious appearance (as in the Coin in Wool trick). 9. When you are ready for the "disappear" operation, ask the spectator if they feel that the coin is still under the handkerchief. The answer will be "Yes". 10. Grasp one corner of the handkerchief and pull the handkerchief with the coin out of the spectator's hands. Overall impression: the coin "disappeared" directly from the viewer's fingers. 11. Gently show both sides of the handkerchief and put it in your pocket. Now you can return the borrowed coin in the style you like best. second method The general impression is exactly the same as in the first version, except that the borrowed coin is additionally "fixed" with an elastic band before disappearing. Focus secret: 1. Follow the procedure of the "Handkerchief from which the coin disappears" trick up to step 9. 2. With your left hand holding the borrowed coin, remove the rubber band from your pocket, leaving the coin in your pocket. 3. Put the elastic on the handkerchief under the sewn coin. 4. Note. The elastic band is put on with a dual purpose. First, the gesture of putting a coin in your pocket looks even more natural. Second, the elastic does not allow the viewer to get a closer look at what the handkerchief looks like while holding the coin wrapped in it. 5. When you are ready for the "disappear" operation, ask the spectator if he is holding the coin in his hand. After receiving a positive answer, remove the elastic band, then, with a quick movement, pull the handkerchief out of his hands, as in the first option. The addition of an elastic band is very useful, as it finally removes suspicion from the movement with which you put the coin in your pocket. The rubber band can also be placed in another place, designed according to your scenario for returning a marked coin, for example, in a box containing a Coin in a skein of wool. The rubber band will give you a great excuse to walk up to the box and slip the coin into the slot of the wool in full view of unsuspecting onlookers.
