EFFECTIVE FOCUSES AND THEIR CLUES Wrong card. The Secret of Focus Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues Focus Description: Фокус The spectator shuffles the deck, and the magician fans it out and asks the spectator to take a card, look at it and remember it. The card is then placed in the center of the deck, which is then well shuffled. The magician removes the deck behind his back and returns it, holding one card in his right hand and the rest in his left. He shows the card to the spectator, who says that it is not his card. Looking puzzled, the magician places her face down and makes another attempt. Error again. Having made a mistake for the third time, the magician asks the spectator which card he chose. The magician looks for it in the deck, but cannot find it. It turns out that this is a card lying on the table, about which the spectator said that it was not the same card. Mysteriously, it went from wrong to right. Focus secret: 1. Ask a spectator (let's call him Alex) to completely shuffle the deck and give it to you. Thank him, fan out the cards and ask him to choose a card, look at it and remember it. Let's say it's the jack of hearts. While he is choosing, split the deck into two halves (it's more natural to do this in the place where Alex took the card) and ask Alex to place his card face down on the deck in your left hand. There is no need to look at any cards. 2. When Alex returns his card, perform a pass with both halves of the deck, which will move Alex's card to the top of the deck. Simultaneously perform false shuffles 3 and 4. Alex's card will end up at the bottom of the deck, and then again at the top. Don't let anyone see the front of Alex's card as it moves from bottom to top. 3. Tell the audience: "So Alex himself chose a card from a deck that he himself shuffled. He put it in the middle of the deck, which was then completely shuffled again. Alex's card, which only you and he know, could be anywhere in the deck "I'm going to find his card now, behind my back." 4. Put the cards behind your back. Alex's card is of course on the top of the deck, but you must remove the top two cards using a double lift. Don't forget: the public expects you to be looking for Alex's card, so you have plenty of time to line up the two cards in your right hand using the fingers of your left. I prefer to hold two cards with my thumb at the bottom, my middle finger at the top, and support the back with my index finger. The cards can be bent slightly, forward or backward, if this makes it easier to hold them together, but only slightly - you will need to place them back on top of the deck, and the bend will be noticeable. 5. Having pulled out from behind your back in your right hand two cards taken by a double lift, and in your left a deck, confidently show the opened card to Alex and say: “I think this is your card.” At the same time, place the deck face down on the table. 6. Alex, of course, will say that this is not his card. Resist the temptation to look at the map yourself. Lower your head and look puzzled. Say: “I don’t understand how this happened?” After a moment's thought, say, "Let me try again." Place the "card" on top of the deck and pick up the deck again. Make it clear, without emphasizing it, that you are not doing any manipulation with the cards. Spectators must be assured that the wrong card is now on the top of the deck - it is actually Alex's card. 7. Before putting the cards behind your back again, pretend that an afterthought occurred to you. Place the top card face down on the table, saying: “We don’t need this one, let’s discard it.” 8. Take another card from behind your back in your right hand. Be careful: this should not be a card from the top of the deck that the audience has already seen - the audience thinks that it is on the table. I prefer to place the top card in the middle of the deck while my hands are behind my back - so that there is no danger of drawing it out again. 9. Now you can calmly take the top card, pull it out from behind your back and show it to Alex again, just like the first time. Say with confidence: “It must be her.” Alex will again say that you were mistaken. Pretend to be slightly angry and throw this card on the table on top of the first one. 10. Repeat the same steps, throwing the third incorrect card onto the first two. Say: "I can't believe it! What card did you choose?" 11. Alex says he chose the jack of hearts. Look at the cards in your left hand twice. Say: "It's strange, she's not here. What happened to her?" 12. Quickly turn over the three cards on the table. The bottom one will be the jack of hearts. Pretend to be outraged. Say: "Look, this was the first card I showed you. You were leading me by the nose." Alex and the audience will say, “No, you showed us a different map.” Perhaps they will name the card that you actually showed them. In this case, you can look at the cards in your hands and say: “No, this cannot be, here is this card, in the middle of the deck, look.” 13. By this point, the audience, - L Oh, of course, will understand that they have been deceived by a clever magician. You don't have to agree with this. As you collect the cards, say something like, “Well, you learn from mistakes. Next time I’ll choose my audience more carefully.” The trick looks much more impressive if you don't look at the first card you show Alex. If you watched, you will not be able to show such strong indignation at the end, because, like the audience, you will “know” that they were not shown the Jack of Hearts. Once you have Alex's card safely on the table, you can relax and focus on the reprise. You must, of course, be careful not to draw the same wrong card a second time. Also, when you show the wrong cards the second and third time, even though you are no longer using double lift and only have one card in your hand, show them to the spectators as you did the first time, so as not to arouse suspicion. It is such small details that speak of the high art of a magician. In addition, you must be on guard so that no one turns over a card lying on the table, thus revealing that it is Alex's card while the trick is still in progress. Be prepared to stop such an attempt by saying, “We’ll come back to this later.” Say, "One more try - this time I must find it."
