Focus Description:

This is one of the most puzzling pocket tricks. It can also be performed with a ring, a metal washer.

A ribbon is threaded into a Chinese coin. Spectators hold the braid by the ends. A scarf is thrown over the coin. The magician puts his hand under the handkerchief for a second. He takes off his handkerchief - a coin is tied in the center of the braid.

In full view, the magician releases the coin and removes it from the ribbon right in the center!

Focus secret:

The magician has a duplicate coin hidden under the handkerchief. He reaches under the handkerchief, holding the duplicate coin in his hand. Since nothing is visible under the handkerchief, he attaches a duplicate to the middle of the braid with a loop.

He hides the original coin in his left hand. With his right he raises the handkerchief, showing the duplicate to the unsuspecting public. He slides his left hand along the braid and for a while takes one end of it in his hand. He immediately gives the end back to the viewer, but manages to remove the original coin with his left hand and put it in his pocket along with the handkerchief. Then he grabs a duplicate coin and, inexplicably, removes it from the ribbon!

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

folding battery 14.11.2013

Nokia described in an application filed with the European Patent Office in March 2013 a battery for mobile devices that can be bent and folded in half.

A battery (Nokia calls it a "battery pack") consists of several miniature rectangular battery cells placed on a substrate. The cells themselves cannot be bent, but the substrate is flexible. "Block" can be used in flexible body devices. In addition, it allows you to create a battery with a non-standard shape (for example, with a ledge), thereby giving designers more freedom in choosing the layout.

It is known that Nokia is developing devices with a flexible body. The company showed a prototype of such a device at Nokia World in October 2011. Bending the device, you can, for example, flip through the photo in the gallery.

Samsung and LG have already begun serial production of a smartphone with a curved, but not flexible, body. The latter, among other things, also introduced curved batteries and batteries in the form of a cable.
