Focus Description:

The magician predicts which of the two stacks with different numbers of cards will be chosen by the spectators.

Focus secret:

There is an old trick, which is to put two piles of cards on the table, one of which consists of any seven cards, and the other of four sevens.

The magician explains that he will predict in advance (verbally or in writing) which group will be chosen by the society; and he fulfills his intention by announcing that a "seven" bunch will be chosen.

This name applies to each pile, referring in one case to the number of cards in the pile, and in the other to the value of the individual cards. In this form, it is hardly worth mentioning the focus; but it serves as a prelude to a newer and really good way of doing the same trick.

You put two piles of cards on the table, which both contain the same number, for example, six of any cards that first come to hand, since in this case the value of the cards does not play a significant role.

You declare that one of the heaps contains an even number, the other an odd number. This, of course, is not true, but this is one of the requirements for a magician that he should be able to say as many false things as he pleases in his profession, and that his most solemn assurances should be taken as a joke. You continue:

"I won't tell you which pile is even and which is odd, but I will predict as many times as you like which one you will choose. Note that I have absolutely no influence on your choice. I can tell you that this time you will choose a pile with an odd number."

While you are making this speech, you take this opportunity to hide one card from the top of the deck in the palm of your right hand and place the rest of the cards separately on the table.

When the audience has made a choice, you pick up the chosen pile with your right hand, adding to it the card thus hidden in the palm of your hand and, approaching the audience, ask someone to check your prediction. It goes without saying that it turns out to be an odd number.

Then you bring the second stack, which turns out to be even. Put both piles together and separate them again, hiding the top card of the odd pile in your palm; put both piles back on the table and this time predict that the society will choose the even pile.

When the spectators have made their choice, all you have to do is take the unselected stack with the hand that has the card hidden in the palm, and the chosen stack with the empty hand.

You can truthfully assure the public that you could predict their choices with equal accuracy throughout the evening, but it's best not to repeat the trick too often.

Toyota FCET hydrogen fuel cell truck 25.04.2019

Toyota has unveiled a new truck with zero emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere. The project was implemented jointly with the Kenworth Truck Company, the city port and the California Air Resources Board. The presented prototype Fuel Cell Electric heavy-duty Truck (FCET) operates on the basis of hydrogen cells, producing water in the form of waste.

The presented truck is based on prototypes that have been under development since 2017. According to official data, FCET is able to cover about 480 km without refueling, which is almost 2 times higher than the average daily mileage of trucks.

The company intends to produce 10 high-tech trucks that will be used to transport cargo from the Port of Los Angeles to various locations within the city and beyond. Like previous prototypes, the presented truck is based on the Kenworth T680 Class 8 tractor. The main goal pursued by the developers is to organize transportation using environmentally friendly vehicles to reduce emissions of harmful substances.

Company representatives note that Toyota continues to actively develop technologies that allow the creation of electric vehicles that will help meet a wide range of needs and do not produce harmful substances. In the future, the company intends to continue promoting technologies for the production of hydrogen fuel cells for trucks.
