Distribute 12 tables to the audience; on each table, a multi-digit number is written in large numbers. By comparing the tables, you can make sure that no number is repeated. Each table has a serial number in the upper left corner.

Consider this system in relation to tables numbered 1-9. To make up a number for one of the tables, first of all, you need to mentally put the key figure 3 in front of the number; resulting in a two-digit number. From it, through certain actions, a number written on the table is compiled.

Let's show these actions in relation to tables with odd numbers: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9. Let's take the fifth table as an example, mentally put the number 3 in front of the number and do the following:

add both numbers: 3 + 5 = 8;

double this number: 35 x 2 = 70;

subtract the smaller number from the larger one: 5 - 3 = 2;

multiply both numbers: 3 x 5 = 15.

All the results obtained are written side by side: 870 215. This is the number written on the table with serial number 5. The calculations you made can be briefly indicated as follows:

That is addition, doubling, subtraction, multiplication. The numbers on even tables are compiled using the same steps, but in reverse order. Take the second table as an example. First of all, mentally put the number 2 in front of the number 3. Then:

3 x 2 = 6,

3 - 2 = 1,

32 x 2 = 64,

3 + 2 = 5.

We get the number on the table with serial number 2: 61 645. The numbers on tables 10, 11, 12 are compiled according to the same system, but the key triple in front of the number is not assigned.

It is necessary to remember the actions by which numbers are drawn up on odd and even tables. Repeat these steps in your mind when you hear the table number. After a short workout, this is done easily and quickly.
