Focus Description:

Show the audience two wide, long silk ribbons, and then give two of the willing viewers the ends of these ribbons. Grab the ribbons with your hands near the middle and have someone else cut both ribbons with scissors. Taking the four ends in your left hand, burn the ends of the four cut ribbons on the flame of a candle.

When the ends of the ribbons are burned, take the “magic wand” from the table in your right hand and touch it to your left hand. Give the same two spectators-assistants in each hand the same tape, and let them pull them. Unclench your left hand - the tapes turned out to be intact.

Focus secret:

To demonstrate the trick, you need two wide, long silk ribbons of the same color, 2 m each, and a piece of the same ribbon 20-45 cm long, sewn into a ring with threads in the color of the ribbon.

When taking the ribbons, discreetly hold the ring in your left hand. Having shown the ribbons in your hand, quietly thread them into the ring and, stretching the ring, hold it with the index and thumb of the right and left hands. Viewers will mistake the ring for the middle of long ribbons. The ring is cut in the place indicated by the dotted line in the figure. After that, both halves of the ribbons are folded in the left hand. Then the ends of the tapes are fired (which makes them smaller and easier to hide).

With your right hand, pass out the ribbons, making sure that each spectator holds a different end. The ends of the burnt ring are imperceptibly taken in the right hand and masked by the "magic wand" taken in hand, after which they are left on the table with it.
