Focus Description:

Pick up the box and open it. After that, fold the box, bringing it to its original form. Now open it and start extracting various items from it: scarves, ribbons, etc. Then show the box again - it is empty, as at the beginning of the focus.

Focus secret:

The secret of the trick lies in the device of a swinging "sideboard" (here - a secret compartment) built into the bottom of the box.

The “sideboard” is designed in such a way that it allows you to transfer, at will, objects that can be placed in it to one side or another of the bottom.

The movement of the "sideboard" in the figure is indicated by an arrow. So that it cannot slip through and open on the other side, stoppers are made at the ends of its walls. "Sideboard" is glued inside with matter, from which the valve is also made. Rubber is sewn into it, which does not allow the "charging" to fall out during the vibrations of the "sideboard". At the same time, pulling the "sideboard" from above, it makes it easy to get items out of the bag formed in it.

The “sideboard” is made in such a way that with the slightest pressure it swings and moves to the other side of the bottom. There are small hooks in the corners of the box that keep it assembled. Initially, the "sideboard" with the "charging" is inside the box.

Having overturned the casket forward, with the lid towards the audience, the "sideboard" by "charging" is imperceptibly transferred to the other side of the bottom, remote from the audience. Then the lid opens, the hooks inside are unlocked, the lid rises up and slowly stretches. "Servant" is now facing you.

Then everything goes according to the description. If you are experienced enough and have rehearsed the trick well, then it will be easy for you to show not only the inside of the box, but also the outside. To do this, you should turn slightly and press the “sideboard” with your body to move it to the other, inner side, and show the audience the outer sides of the box. This can be done several times. It will be very impressive if, after you take scarves, ribbons, etc. out of the box, you show the box again, spreading it out in front of you.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

ferromagnetic semiconductor 20.07.2005

Finnish scientists have made a gallium-manganese nitride heterostructure that is ferromagnetic at room temperature. A ferromagnetic semiconductor is an old dream of microelectronics scientists, more precisely, spintron scientists: its properties can be controlled not only with an electric signal, as is usually done, but also with a magnetic field.

It is believed that such a material will make it possible to make a big step forward in the field of spintronics - electronics of the XNUMXst century, which uses not only an electric charge, but also the direction of the electron spin to work with information. Namely, in a ferromagnet, the spins of electrons under the action of a magnetic field line up in the same direction and retain this orientation after the field is removed.

However, until recently, ferromagnetism at high temperatures was inherent only in good conductors: metals - iron, manganese, as well as intermetallic compounds like SmCo5 or alloys of the Nd-Fe-B system. For semiconductors, this property was not noticed.

Scientists from the Helsinki University of Technology, led by Dr. Markku Sopanen, have changed that. It turned out that if we add a few clusters of ferromagnetic manganese to the main semiconductors - gallium or indium arsenides, gallium nitride, then the compound will acquire ferromagnetism, but will not cease to be a semiconductor.

"Today, spintronics devices are made of metals, and they are suitable only for storing data. Magnetic semiconductors can simultaneously perform other tasks, that is, one component of the microcircuit becomes multifunctional," says Markku Sopanen.
