There are two cylinders on the table - red and blue. Show the audience that they are empty. Cover the red cylinder with the blue one. Place both cylinders on the table. Now show the audience the bottle and lower it inside the cylinders.

Lift two cylinders at once and show the audience that the bottle is inside the blue cylinder. Now remove the red cylinder and place it on another table.

- Which cylinder is the bottle in? - ask the audience. Everyone will say it's in blue. Show me the blue cylinder - it is empty.

“And the bottle is already in red,” tell the audience and lift the red cylinder - the bottle will really be there.

Focus secret:

Make cylinders from tin or hard cardboard. Paint them with oil paint. The height of the cylinders should be the same, but the diameters should be different: the blue cylinder should have a diameter one centimeter smaller. The cylinders are ready. Now take an ordinary bottle and tie a thread or fishing line with a loop at the end to its neck. After you show the cylinders to the audience and place them on the table, take the bottle, discreetly place the loop on your index finger, and place the bottle inside the cylinders.

Use this hand to slide down the red cylinder. The bottle will rise slightly from the table - it is not visible either from below or from above. Now remove the red cylinder from the blue one and place it together with the bottle on another table. Invisibly remove the loop from your finger.

The British company Docmail conducted an interesting study, which studied the prevalence of handwriting at the present stage of scientific and technological progress. Surprisingly, although modern computer technology has become widespread only recently, and cannot be compared with the thousand-year tradition of manuscripts, handwriting as a way of recording information is rapidly disappearing.

According to the results of the study, on average, a modern person does not write by hand for 41 days, and one in three did not pick up a fountain pen for six months. As the researchers at Docmail point out, there is still a need for personal signatures, but people are already making shopping lists, taking notes, writing postcards, and so on. on the screens of smartphones, tablets, etc.

Two-thirds of the 2000 respondents said they do take notes, but these are usually short reminder notes.
