Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Double carbon batteries 14.06.2014

The Japanese company Power Japan Plus has announced a breakthrough development in the field of rechargeable batteries. The development, called "Ryden", has double carbon contacts, and in terms of energy consumption it corresponds to lithium-ion batteries. At the same time, new batteries are superior to lithium-ion batteries in terms of safety and service life.

The technology, patented by Power Japan Plus, describes a battery design in which both the anode and cathode are made of carbon and an organic electrolyte is used. Positively charged lithium ions move towards the anode, negatively charged anions move towards the cathode, the electric current flow distance in the battery and the charging rate are higher than in common lithium-ion cells.

A new battery can withstand 3 charge and discharge cycles. The development is notable for its significant performance - the battery charges 20 times faster than lithium-ion batteries at a comparable energy density. Compared with other advanced battery technologies rated at 4V and above, the new battery is more powerful. The developers have also managed to achieve heat transfer losses, eliminating the risk associated with the risk of explosion and fire.

The production technology of the novelty is fully adapted to the existing production lines for conventional batteries and does not require significant changes to the equipment.

The new battery is free of rare earth, precious and heavy metals, which not only makes production, use and disposal extremely safe for the environment, but also greatly facilitates production logistics. In the production of such batteries, dependence on the political and economic situation in the world metal market is reduced. The company plans to switch to fully organic carbon in order to optimize its environmental impact, and in addition to receive 3 more patents for its development.

"The new generation of batteries delivers high performance but compromises on reliability, safety and cost. Our Rayden dual carbon design strikes a balance in all of these areas and outperforms existing batteries," said Power Japan Plus CTO Kaname Takeya.
