In the hands of the magician's assistant is a tightly stretched rope. The magician crumples the handkerchief and throws it forcefully in her direction. It seems incredible, but the handkerchief appears in the middle of the rope, no one knows how.

Focus Rope and handkerchief

Focus secret:

There are two secrets in this trick.

A thin elastic band is attached to the string. You need to sew it so that it does not sag when the rope is stretched. And of course, they must be the same color. A scarf is attached to the elastic in advance. Before demonstrating the trick, the assistant pulls the string along with the elastic band, and holds the handkerchief in her right hand. This is the first secret. Well, you have probably already guessed the second one yourself: the magician only imitates throwing a handkerchief towards the assistant. In fact, it remains in his hands. At the moment when a handkerchief appears on the string and the attention of the audience is riveted to the assistant, the magician puts his handkerchief into his jacket pocket.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
