Focus Description:

On the performer's table, among many other items, there is a small sheet of Whatman paper. The magician takes it, rolls it up with a tube and looks through it into the auditorium, as if through a spyglass. Then he unfolds the tube, shows the sheet of paper from both sides to the audience and puts it back in its original place.

White handkerchiefs lie next to the paper on the magician's table. The artist takes them, counts them (there were six handkerchiefs) and puts them back on the table one at a time. The performer, as it were, checked the props for this trick. Now you can start to demonstrate it.

Like the first time, the artist takes the same sheet of paper and rolls it into a tube, then, going to the table, he takes two white handkerchiefs and pushes them into the paper tube. As soon as they disappeared into it, the artist brings the pipe to his lips and blows hard into it. Two handkerchiefs immediately fly out of the tube, but they are no longer white: one of the white handkerchiefs turned red, the other turned blue (Fig. 1).

Then the artist takes a second pair of white handkerchiefs from the table and also places them in the pipe. He blows into it again, and two handkerchiefs fly out of the pipe, now green and yellow. Finally, the last pair of white handkerchiefs is placed in the tube. The artist blows into it, and purple and pink handkerchiefs fly out of the pipe. The audience is delighted - a miracle happened before their eyes.

The performer comes up to the table, takes his "magic" wand and with its help unfolds the pipe - in front of the audience's eyes is the same simple sheet of Whatman paper. The performer tears it to shreds and finishes the demonstration of the trick.

Focus secret:

The main success of this focus is in its careful preparation. You should not rush to demonstrate the number to the audience if the performer is not yet confident in himself.

This trick requires a special skill and artistry from the performer when showing and great care in preparing the props.

For the number you will need a sheet of Whatman paper measuring 30 x 25 cm, six white handkerchiefs 15 x 15 cm and six colored ones of the same size. All handkerchiefs should be made of thin, light silk so that they are less wrinkled. It is desirable that the colored handkerchiefs are bright. Their edges are processed with an edge stitch - this will make it easier to blow the handkerchiefs out of the tube (Fig. 2).

One of the secrets of this trick is that white handkerchiefs have colored understudies. But the main secret of the focus lies in the device of the tube (Fig. 3)

Four tubes (cylinders) with a diameter of 2 cm and a length of 15-17 cm should be made of aluminum or other light metal. The tubes should be smoothly polished both inside and out. The finished tubes are folded together and soldered to each other. After that, you should take a piece of sheet iron of the appropriate length and tightly wrap the soldered tubes with it.

It turns out a tube with four trunks. To disguise it, you need to take a sheet of Whatman paper the same size as a tube and paste over it (Fig. 4).

In addition to this requisite for this trick, it is necessary to specially equip an illusion table. From the edge of the table, which is closer to the performer, you need to make two hooks. On these hooks will lie a cylinder. On the other side of the table lid, make a hole with a sideboard slightly longer than the tube (Fig. 5).

Before demonstrating the trick, the performer places six white handkerchiefs and a piece of Whatman paper, among other props, on the illusion table. And he "charges" six colored handkerchiefs into the "barrels" of the tube, two into each barrel. One trunk remains free (Fig. 6).

The tube charged in this way is placed in advance on hooks mounted on the edge of the table.

A sheet of Whatman paper should be placed on the edge of the table where the pipe is located, so that three-quarters of the sheet lies on the table, and its fourth part covers the pipe. The main skill of the performer should be manifested in the fact that he was able to quietly at the right time to take a sheet of paper along with a pipe (Fig. 7).

During the demonstration of the trick, the artist for the first time takes a sheet of paper without a tube, and the second time he picks up the tube along with the sheet and immediately folds it, hiding the secret tube in it. Thus, the "charged" tube is inside the paper tube (Fig. 8).

Then the performer takes the first pair of white handkerchiefs and pushes them into the empty trunk, and blows into the other, into the one where the colored handkerchiefs are already lying. The first pair of colored handkerchiefs flies out of the tube.

After that, the performer takes the second pair of white handkerchiefs and pushes them into the already free barrel, and blows again into another, where two colored handkerchiefs lie, and so on. When the magician finishes blowing the handkerchiefs, he must hold the pipe vertically.

Approaching the illusion table for the "magic" wand, the performer brings his hand with a paper pipe to the sideboard and imperceptibly lowers the secret pipe into it (Fig. 9).

At this point, the artist must draw the attention of the audience to the "magic" wand. Then he boldly unfolds the sheet of paper with a stick and shows it to the audience.

Solidification of bulk substances 30.04.2024

There are quite a few mysteries in the world of science, and one of them is the strange behavior of bulk materials. They may behave like a solid but suddenly turn into a flowing liquid. This phenomenon has attracted the attention of many researchers, and we may finally be getting closer to solving this mystery. Imagine sand in an hourglass. It usually flows freely, but in some cases its particles begin to get stuck, turning from a liquid to a solid. This transition has important implications for many areas, from drug production to construction. Researchers from the USA have attempted to describe this phenomenon and come closer to understanding it. In the study, the scientists conducted simulations in the laboratory using data from bags of polystyrene beads. They found that the vibrations within these sets had specific frequencies, meaning that only certain types of vibrations could travel through the material. Received ... >>

Implanted brain stimulator 30.04.2024

In recent years, scientific research in the field of neurotechnology has made enormous progress, opening new horizons for the treatment of various psychiatric and neurological disorders. One of the significant achievements was the creation of the smallest implanted brain stimulator, presented by a laboratory at Rice University. Called Digitally Programmable Over-brain Therapeutic (DOT), this innovative device promises to revolutionize treatments by providing more autonomy and accessibility to patients. The implant, developed in collaboration with Motif Neurotech and clinicians, introduces an innovative approach to brain stimulation. It is powered through an external transmitter using magnetoelectric power transfer, eliminating the need for wires and large batteries typical of existing technologies. This makes the procedure less invasive and provides more opportunities to improve patients' quality of life. In addition to its use in treatment, resist ... >>

The perception of time depends on what one is looking at 29.04.2024

Research in the field of the psychology of time continues to surprise us with its results. Recent discoveries by scientists from George Mason University (USA) turned out to be quite remarkable: they discovered that what we look at can greatly influence our sense of time. During the experiment, 52 participants took a series of tests, estimating the duration of viewing various images. The results were surprising: the size and detail of the images had a significant impact on the perception of time. Larger, less cluttered scenes created the illusion of time slowing down, while smaller, busier images gave the feeling of time speeding up. Researchers suggest that visual clutter or detail overload can make it difficult to perceive the world around us, which in turn can lead to faster perception of time. Thus, it was shown that our perception of time is closely related to what we look at. Larger and smaller ... >>

Volvo car detects animals on the road 09.11.2015

Volvo announced the development of a new technology designed to reduce the number of traffic accidents associated with the appearance of animals on the road.

It is noted that in Sweden, Volvo is conducting research that will help cars respond quickly to moose and deer running out. In addition, the company is developing new systems for detecting cows and even kangaroos. In the latter case, we are talking about the Australian market, where thousands of accidents involving these animals are recorded every year.

The creation of the new system is part of Volvo's strategy to reduce road deaths. To do this, the company introduces the most advanced technologies for monitoring the surrounding situation and assisting the driver when driving.

"Volvo's goal is to develop a car that won't get into an accident at all. And so far we have already achieved a lot in this direction. Volvo's latest car, the XC90 SUV, offers an unprecedented level of safety as standard. It is equipped with a variety of safety systems , including technologies aimed at preventing collisions. After mastering the systems that warn the driver about the danger, the company directed its efforts to the development and implementation of cloud-based technology to warn other road users, for example, about a slippery stretch of road ahead, as well as the introduction of "autopilots" on the roads ".

The first of these vehicles will hit the roads of Gothenburg in 2017 as part of our experiment with ordinary people operating them, and the company will use the results and feedback to optimize this project," Volvo said.
