Focus Description:

The magician enters the stage accompanied by two assistants. The left of the audience carries a large beautifully painted or embroidered handkerchief, and the assistant, walking to the right, holds a nickel-plated cover in her hands. The handkerchief is given to the magician. The magician, waving the handkerchief several times, shows it to the audience. Then, with his right hand, the magician throws a scarf over his left shoulder, while the left assistant lightly holds the scarf, preventing it from falling (Fig. 208).

One moment, and the magician takes out a large glass vase with water from under the handkerchief, in which live fish swim (Fig. 209). The vase is passed to the assistant on the left, who shows it to the audience.

Props:

1. Glass vase.

2. Rubber tire.

3. Live goldfish.

4. A large, beautifully painted or embroidered lined silk handkerchief with a small weight (lead) sewn inside so that, thrown over the shoulder, the corner of the handkerchief does not slip down.

prop device.

1. For a trick, you need an ordinary glass vase without a stem with a diameter of 18 to 25 cm and a height of 5-6 cm. The vase does not have any special devices, it is only necessary that the edges of the vase be completely even.

2. A rubber vase cover made from a medical ice pack. The middle of the bubble with a neck and a cork is cut out, and a tire is obtained (Fig. 210, a). The tire should be made of durable elastic rubber, it is carefully put on a vase filled with water with floating fish. Putting on the tire, you should let out all the air from under it and press on it from above with your hand. Now we will have a vase tightly covered with a rubber tire (Fig. 210, b). Such a vase can be safely placed in any position - water will not spill out of it.

3. Live goldfish look very impressive swimming in a vase, but there is a lot of trouble with live fish, and you can’t get them everywhere. We recommend not to use live fish. Good for this purpose are toy celluloid fish, small in size, which can be easily bought in a toy store. To make it seem to the audience that the fish are alive and swimming, you need to shake the vase imperceptibly all the time.

4. A large handkerchief so that it can cover the magician's shoulder and chest when he takes out a vase of fish. In one of the corners of the handkerchief, which the magician throws over his left shoulder with his right hand, a small weight in the form of a lead plate is sewn in. Then the scarf will hold well on the shoulder.

Secret and demonstration of focus. The secret of the trick is the rubber cover that closes the vase of water and fish. The second secret is the place where the vase is hidden. The magician puts the vase in the inner vest pocket, specially made for this purpose on the left side of the vest. The size of the pocket should be such that the vase can easily fit halfway into it. The vase is placed with a rubber tire to the chest, and with skillful placement it will be completely invisible.

While working on the trick, the artist, under the cover of a scarf, quickly puts his right hand under his vest and takes out a vase. Then he immediately puts his left hand under the handkerchief (which is supported by an assistant) and quickly takes the vase in his left hand. At this time, he holds the edge of the vase with his right hand, carefully removes the rubber cover from it and immediately puts it in the pocket from which he took the vase. Then the artist again takes the vase in his right hand and takes it out from under the handkerchief. With careful rehearsal of all movements, all this happens in 8-10 seconds.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>
