Focus Description:

You will need the following: two paper bags (necessarily with a flat bottom so that they can be placed on the table; for example, large bags of flour or sugar will fit); two oranges and one apple. Other types of fruit are inconvenient to manipulate.

An apple and one orange should be the same size, and the second orange should be slightly larger. Take this second orange and cut it in half, very evenly, from top to bottom. Set one half aside - you don't need it anymore.

Remove the pulp from the second half so that you have only an empty peel left. It should not have any leftover pulp.

Put the half orange peel on top of the whole orange and take it in your hand, turning the peel towards the audience so that they get the impression that you are holding the most ordinary orange. If this peel is put on an apple and held in the same way, then no one will guess that an apple is hidden inside.

To perform the trick with an apple and an orange, you must first place two bags on your table, one of which contains an apple and an orange with half a peel put on top of it. The second package is empty.

Take the empty bag and show it to the audience so they can look inside. Then place it on the table to your right. Take the second bag, put it on your left palm and remove the orange with half the peel from it.

Put the orange in the bag on the table. Again, put your hand into the bag that you hold in your left palm, remove the apple from there and also put it in the bag on the table. Now show the empty bag to the audience - let them see that it is really empty. Place it on the table to your left.

Focus Running Fruit

Focus secret:

Explain to the audience that they should be careful what you do. Stick your hand into the bag to your right, and, unnoticed by the audience, remove the half of the peel from the orange and put it on the apple. Remove it from the package, holding the orange peel towards the audience. They will think it is an orange.

Put it in the bag on the left. Now ask the audience if they were paying close attention to your actions. The standard answer to this would be "Yes!". Then ask them what exactly you did, and they will say that you took an orange out of one bag and put it in another.

- That's right, - you answer. - Now the orange is in the bag to my right, and the apple is in the bag to my left.

After saying these words, lean slightly, looking into the packages, as if trying to make sure that you are telling the truth.

So far, you have been dealing with the technical side of the focus. Now it's time to think about spectacular design. Take your "magic wand" and pass it first over one package, then over another. Put the wand on the table and say:

- Look!

Reaching into the bag to your left, you pull out an apple, leaving half an orange peel in the bag. Place the apple on the table, remove the bag with half the peel, and toss it aside. Take the second bag, turn it over and an orange will roll out of it. Let the audience casually glance inside this bag, then doubt and discard it too.

After the trick is shown, the audience, trying to remember what they actually saw, will be sure: they looked into both packages - both before and after the trick.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

The smell of emotions and social connections 26.01.2024

Smell is not just a mechanism for perceiving the world, it is a key sense that plays an important role in our emotions and social interactions.

Not only do scents create unique emotional experiences, but they also play a key role in shaping our social connections. A developed sense of smell enriches our life, making it richer and deeper. It is important to recognize the significance of this feeling and its impact on our daily experiences in society.

Scientific research confirms that smells can not only help us recognize relatives and determine genetic convergence, but also reveal a person's emotional state. For example, an experiment in the Netherlands showed that the smell of a happy mood can lift the mood of those who perceive it.

Interestingly, research suggests that women are more sensitive to odors associated with anxiety in men. This observation may explain the historical role of women in caring for the young and vulnerable in difficult situations.

Sensitivity to smell brings real benefits in your social life. People with a developed sense of smell have a rich social network, a large number of friends and frequent meetings.

However, despite the importance of smell, the mechanisms of odor perception and their influence on behavior remain a mystery. Scientists are now actively investigating the chemicals in body odors that are responsible for influencing social connections.

Losing our sense of smell can deprive us of an important, but subconscious, way of communicating. Therefore, the value of smell as an honest witness of our feelings cannot be doubted, scientists emphasize.
