Origin: Baikal thyme is endemic to Eastern Siberia and Mongolia.

Area: Baikal thyme is found in the mountainous regions of Eastern Siberia and Mongolia at altitudes from 1000 to 2200 m above sea level.

Baikal thyme

Lamiaceae family - Lamiaceae.

Perennial plant, woody in the lower part, with a purple tint; forms sods, flower-bearing branches rising up to 5 cm, densely pubescent.

The leaves are elliptical, pubescent, punctate-glandular. Inflorescence capitate. The flowers are dark purple. The fruit is a nut.

Grows on rocky slopes.

Occurs in the area of ​​Lake Baikal.

Leaves and stem tops are tested and approved as a spice in fish processing.
