First option

Focus Description:

The artist goes to the auditorium and asks the audience to give him a pencil or pen for a while. Spectators willingly respond to the request. The performer takes the desired item (say, a pencil) and returns to the stage. He then shows the audience his empty hands and a pencil. Since the pencil is given by the spectator, it is naturally the most ordinary one. But here the artist puts the pencil on the palm of his left hand and, without bending his fingers, turns his hand palm down:

Focus Pencil Magnet

To the surprise of the audience, the pencil does not fall to the floor. The artist's palm, like a magnet, pulled him to itself. The artist confirms this once again. Turning the hand with the pencil palm up, he takes the pencil with his right hand and again shows it and his empty hands to the audience.

The magician then puts the pencil back on the left palm and turns it down. The pencil, as if glued, remains in place. The artist moves his hand, turns it up and down with his palm, but the pencil still does not move.

Finally, the artist takes it from his left palm and gratefully returns it to the owner.

This trick is always a great success. It can be shown both in a narrow circle of friends, and in a small audience, and in front of a difficult number.

Focus secret:

For this trick, you will need a small piece of nylon thread and a small button. The pencil is borrowed from one of the spectators. The secret of the trick lies in a piece of nylon thread, with which a simple device is made. A button is sewn into the edge of the sleeve lining from the side of the palm. A piece of nylon thread must be folded in half and the ends tied with a knot. Get a loop. One side of the loop, where the knot is, is put on the button. It must be wrapped around the button once or twice so that the loop does not come off during the demonstration of the trick. The second side of the loop is put on the middle finger:

Such a thread is completely invisible to the viewer, even at a very close distance. This circumstance makes it possible to demonstrate this focus.

A loop of thread is stretched between the middle finger and a button along the palm. Taking a pencil from one of the spectators, the performer returns to the stage. He shows the audience alternately both hands and a pencil. At that moment, when the artist has to put a pencil on the palm of his left hand, he loosens the tension of the thread. To do this, just bend your fingers a little. The magician places the pencil between the palm of the hand and the string and immediately straightens the fingers. The thread is stretched and tightly presses the pencil to the palm:

If you now turn your hand palm down, the pencil will not budge.

The second option

Focus Description:

You show that the pencil does not fall as long as you squeeze your wrist with your hand, then you release it, and the pencil mysteriously stays in place.

Focus Pencil Magnet

Focus secret:

To perform this trick, you will need two pencils and a watch.

Focus Pencil Magnet

Place one end of the pencil behind the strap of your watch, with the other end reaching about the middle of your palm. You will need to slip a second pencil under the tip of the one held by the watch band.

Focus Pencil Magnet

The second pencil is on the table. Grab your wrist from the bottom with one hand while approaching the table to pick up a second pencil. As you lower your hand, the tip of the fixed pencil moves away from the palm of your hand, which makes it possible to grab a pencil lying on the table and pick it up.

Focus Pencil Magnet

Now you can let go of your wrist, demonstrating to the audience that the pencil stays in place. You lower your hand back to the table and put the pencil down. Next, you should take your hands behind your back, showing that the pencil is on the table.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. Stain on a banana 01.05.2010

Brown spots on an overripe banana appear surrounded by a blue band under ultraviolet light. The reasons for the appearance of such spots were investigated by a group of Austrian botanists.

It turned out that in the ultraviolet, the decomposition products of the yellow pigment of the banana skin fluoresce. The microscope showed that brown spots usually appear around stomata - microscopic holes in the skin, designed for gas exchange.
