Focus Description:

The magician takes out two safety pins and a small metal ring from his pocket and passes them to the audience for inspection. Everyone can make sure that there is absolutely nothing unusual about them. After inspection, things are transferred to the magician.

The magician takes the ring and threads one of the pins into it. It turns out that the magician considers his ring magic and is now going to demonstrate his extraordinary abilities. According to him, the ring, obeying a mental order, will move from one pin to another, and all this will happen in front of the audience.

Focus secret:

For the trick, you need two ordinary safety pins and a metal ring from those designed for attaching curtains. The secret is not in the devices, but in the dexterity of the magician, in the dexterity, for the acquisition of which one needs to show a lot of perseverance and patience. So, since neither the ring nor the pins contain any secret, it is clear that the ring always remains on the pin, which the magician, starting the performance, holds in his right hand.

When, during the demonstration of the trick, the ring is in the middle of two pins located side by side, it remains only to intercept the ends of the pins with your fingers so that the pin with the ring is in the left hand.

In essence, the magician passes the pin with the ring from the right hand to the left, and the pin that was in the left to the right hand, and does this simultaneously and in such a way that it seems as if the pins remained in place, and the ring moved from one pin to another.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. Full color OLED WUXGA microdisplay 07.11.2021

eMagin, which specializes in developing, designing and manufacturing high-resolution active matrix OLED microdisplays for AR and VR headsets and other applications where the display is close to the eyes, has unveiled a WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) resolution prototype. It uses Direct Patterning Display (dPd) technology to achieve a record high brightness of 10 cd/m000. According to the manufacturer, this is the world's brightest high-resolution full-color OLED microdisplay.

"This is a historic moment for eMagin and the industry, and our biggest achievement to date in the development of our proprietary dPd technology," eMagin CEO Andrew G. Sculley described the prototype. "Applying direct framing to displays WUXGA, we've achieved a peak brightness of over 10 cd/m000 and rich RGB colors, a 2x improvement over our standard XL microdisplays on white OLEDs with a color filter and three to four times the performance of our new XLE microdisplays , and we believe it is the world's brightest high-resolution full-color micro OLED display, and we are working with a first-tier customer company on this development, including finding ways to produce it commercially.

The illustration on the left shows the structure of a microdisplay on white OLEDs with a color filter, on the right - the structure of a microdisplay that uses dPd technology.

"The 10 cd/m000 full-color brightness is an important milestone on our journey to full-color displays in excess of 2 cd/m28 by mid-000," added Scully. "In comparison, a typical laptop monitor delivers 2 cd/m2023 brightness, and a quality smartphone is as low as 250 cd/m2.In addition, our dPd displays contain over 1000 individually addressable pixels per inch (ppi) for remarkable clarity and resolution compared to typical 2 ppi laptop screens and OLED screens. smartphones with a resolution of 2500 pixels per inch.
