What would you say if you came across the following problem in an arithmetic problem book: "A student bought a sheet of blue paper and mixed it with a sheet of yellow paper. What color did the mixture turn out?"

Probably, you would think that the author of the problem book is joking. How can you mix blue paper with yellow? But in fact it is still possible. And although there is no such problem in the arithmetic problem book, we will solve it now. Make a top, such as in our picture. The leg of the top is made of a match, the circle is made of white cardboard. There is no white, take any, you just have to stick white paper on top. Divide the circle into four parts. Each such part is called a sector. With paints or colored pencils, color two sectors blue and the other two yellow. This will be the blue and yellow paper from the task.

To mix blue paper with yellow, start the spinning top. Blue and yellow colors will mix and merge in your eyes. What color is it? Green! So we solved this strange problem, and the answer turned out to be a little strange too. But no, that's right! No matter how much your spinning top, it will always appear green during rotation. Well, what if you mix red paper with yellow? Red with blue? Make such tops and check what happens when they rotate.

But the most interesting top will turn out if you mix all seven colors of the rainbow. To do this, divide the circle of the top into eight parts and paint seven of them in the main colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. Leave the eighth sector white for now.

Mix colors

Launch the wolf. You will see that it has become almost white! To more accurately adjust the color of the top to white, use the spare, eighth sector. It is for setting. If, say, the spinning top seems pinkish when spinning, lightly paint the tuning sector green. By trying and gradually intensifying the color, you can get an almost pure white color.

If the spinning top seems greenish, paint the tuning sector pink, if bluish - orange, if yellow - lilac.

By the way, using the same tuning sector, you can get white color not from all the colors of the rainbow, but only from pairs of so-called complementary colors: blue + orange, green + red, violet + yellow. Here you will have to tinker with the setting a little longer, but how interesting it will be when the white top, having stopped spinning, turns yellow-purple or orange-blue!

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Judge in a suitcase 25.08.2000

In one of the science fiction works, an electronic judge appeared - a huge computer that contained in its memory a complete set of laws and precedents and formed its sentence based on mathematical logic. Now this fantasy has been realized in Brazil.

Brazilian traffic police patrols are now equipped with an electronic judge - a laptop computer with an artificial intelligence program. True, this judge is competent only in one, rather narrow area - he is able to sort out the conflict between the drivers of colliding cars.

The idea does not claim to fully automate the verdict, it only helps to somewhat relieve the country's judicial system of many simple cases that, according to the law, need to be tried. Data measured by a policeman on the road, the results of a survey of participants in the incident and their sobriety test are entered into the laptop.

The computer can issue fines, bill for damages, and even recommend jail terms. At the same time, he not only issues his decision, but also prints out the course of his reasoning with references to facts and laws. Most drivers are happy that the computer saves them the trouble of going to court.
