So in the old fashioned way, sometimes they also call the projection apparatus. You can easily make a magic lantern yourself from an ordinary filmoscope and a shoe box. Cut one of the end walls of the box with an oblique cross, bend the corners and insert a filmoscope between them. In the opposite wall, cut out a round hole, insert the base of the hanging cartridge for an electric light bulb into it, and screw the "skirt" of the cartridge from the inside of the box.

Charge the cartridge with a cord with a plug at the end. Screw a light bulb with a power of no more than 40 watts into the cartridge, and charge a filmstrip into the filmoscope. By adjusting the lens extension, you can get a magnified picture of the filmstrip on the wall of a darkened room.

So what's so magical about it? Here, for example, Aladdin's magic lamp, it really lived up to its name. It was worth rubbing it - and then a huge genie appeared, ready to build a palace or destroy a city. And no matter how many three magic lanterns, nothing will appear except blisters on the palm of your hand.

And yet, the magic lantern got its name for a reason. With its help, such "miracles" were arranged that the poor genie from the Arabian fairy tale would turn green with envy. In the temples of Ancient Egypt and Hellas, images of the gods appeared on the walls. The sun was the source of light for the projection of the priests of antiquity.

Now, of course, there is nothing magical left in the magic lantern. Even a first-grader cannot be deceived by this simple device. And yet, the old magic lantern helped create one real miracle. After all, he is the grandfather of cinema. In a film projector, we see the same basic parts: behind is a bright flashlight, in front is a lens, and between them is a transparent picture on film.

New series CKR relay Crydom 20.07.2003

Contd Over Paver, Crydom announced the development of a new series of CKR solid state relays with a switching voltage of 240 and 480 V rms and a current load of 10 20 and 30 A rms.

Relays can have both AC control (CKRA subfamily) and DC control (CKRD subfamily). Models are available with zero-crossing switching as well as with arbitrary switching. The CKR series relays are supplied with a built-in heatsink with a snap-on design for direct DIN rail mounting.

Despite the fact that the width of the relay housing is only 22 5 mm, the heatsink ensures efficient heat dissipation. The relay contacts are made for panel mounting with a wire hole (d = 3 mm). The operating status of the relay is displayed by a green LED on its body.
