The zigzag wire antenna is a simple broadband antenna in design. It operates in a double frequency band and provides reception of signals from multi-program telecenters in their coverage area with any combination of channels from 1 to 5 or from 6 to 12.
The design and dimensions of the antenna for channels from 1st to 5th are shown in the figure. Two transverse rails 1 are attached to the wooden rack 2. Metal strips 3 are installed in the upper and lower parts of the rack. The same strips 4, but through insulating gaskets 5, are fixed at the ends of the rails. An insulating plate 6 is placed on the rack between the turnips, on which two metal strips 7 are fixed. Wires with a diameter of 2-3 mm or an antenna cord are soldered to metal strips 3, 4 and 7. A drop cable with a wave resistance of 75 Ohm is attached to the bottom strip 3, which is point of zero potential. The cable is laid along both sides of the inner drive of the lower frame and soldered to the strips 7 (the braid to the left strip, the central conductor to the right).
The dimensions of the antenna for channels 6-12 can be calculated by dividing all the dimensions indicated in the figure by a factor of 2,8 equal to the ratio of the average frequencies of the channels from the 6th to the 12th (fav = 202 MHz) and from the 1st to the 5th th (fср=72 MHz).
The antenna gain is about 5 dB, KBV 0,5-0,8. The radiation pattern in the horizontal plane is symmetrical figure-eight. When orienting, the plane of the frames is set perpendicular to the direction to the television center. Polarization is horizontal.

The IT Business division of Schneider Electric, a global expert in energy management and industrial automation, is updating the BX line of the APC Back-UPS family. The discontinued BX650CI, BX800CI and BX1100CI models will be replaced by Back-UPS BX700UI, BX950UI and BX1400UI line-interactive uninterruptible power supplies, equipped with computer outlets and built-in voltage regulators. These UPSs are more resistant to power outages and differ from their predecessors in the presence of a USB port for communication with a computer.
The BX700UI, BX950UI, and BX1400UI Back-UPS are line-interactive and generate 230V. All units have low battery transfer thresholds and are able to withstand extended mains input voltage drops without switching to battery backup . The total power of the new models is 700VA/390W, 950VA/480W and 1400VA/700W.
According to Schneider Electric, the novelties are able to automatically stabilize the voltage in the range of 140-300 V (BX700UI) and 150-280 V (BX950UI and BX1400UI) to a safe level, which allows the electronics connected to them to operate continuously at low and high voltage in household electrical networks. Thanks to the presence of the RJ-11 connector, it is possible to protect equipment connected to the telephone network, such as an expensive telephone, fax or DSL modem. Monitoring the status of the UPS is easy thanks to the presence of audible alerts and LED indication.
The Back-UPS BX700UI, BX950UI, and BX1400UI connect to a computer using a USB port. Users can download APC PowerChute Personal Edition software for free, which allows you to monitor key UPS parameters, change source settings, and calculate the battery life of connected devices based on battery level. In the event of an extended power outage, APC PowerChute automatically initiates a data save and shutdown procedure for the PC.
