This converter is designed to receive MMDS TV on a simple rhombic antenna. The symmetry of the entrance is provided by two lines. The first is formed by two pieces of a copper tube 3 mm in diameter (capillary), with a gap of 3 mm between them, closed at the end (soldered into the side wall of the box). The second line is coaxially located inside one of the capillaries and is made of copper wire 1,2 mm in diameter and insulated with a fluoroplastic tape wound around it. Through a hole in the capillary, it is connected to the second capillary with a clamp.

After coordination, by moving the clamp, it is fixed on the capillary by soldering. These lines together transform the high resistance of the rhombic antenna into units of ohms of the input resistance of the transistor VT1. Capacitors C7 and C14 are constructive. C7 is made of 1,5 mm double-sided fiberglass 3x5 mm in size and soldered between the VT2 base and the board. C17 flag made of tin, 3x3 mm before the bend and 2x7 mm for soldering, is located near the emitter terminal of the resistance R9. By adjusting the connection of the flag C14 and the trimmer R5, the optimal mode of the mixer VT4 is set. The frequency of the local oscillator VT3 is set by bending the line L6 to the "ground". The KT3109A transistor in the local oscillator is not a mistake, as it turned out, it easily generates at frequencies up to 2500 MHz! All parts connected behind the feedthrough capacitors are located in the basement on the other side of the board. Cm. "Refining feedthrough capacitors". The supply voltage +12 V is supplied via a signal cable through an LC filter similar to the L9C21 converter. 73! UO5OHX ex RO5OWG 1999. See rhombic antenna dimensions. here.

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Major risk factor for gambling addiction 07.05.2024

Computer games are becoming an increasingly popular form of entertainment among teenagers, but the associated risk of gaming addiction remains a significant problem. American scientists conducted a study to determine the main factors contributing to this addiction and offer recommendations for its prevention. Over the course of six years, 385 teenagers were followed to find out what factors may predispose them to gambling addiction. The results showed that 90% of study participants were not at risk of addiction, while 10% became gambling addicts. It turned out that the key factor in the onset of gambling addiction is a low level of prosocial behavior. Teenagers with a low level of prosocial behavior do not show interest in the help and support of others, which can lead to a loss of contact with the real world and a deepening dependence on virtual reality offered by computer games. Based on these results, scientists ... >>

Traffic noise delays the growth of chicks 06.05.2024

The sounds that surround us in modern cities are becoming increasingly piercing. However, few people think about how this noise affects the animal world, especially such delicate creatures as chicks that have not yet hatched from their eggs. Recent research is shedding light on this issue, indicating serious consequences for their development and survival. Scientists have found that exposure of zebra diamondback chicks to traffic noise can cause serious disruption to their development. Experiments have shown that noise pollution can significantly delay their hatching, and those chicks that do emerge face a number of health-promoting problems. The researchers also found that the negative effects of noise pollution extend into the adult birds. Reduced chances of reproduction and decreased fertility indicate the long-term effects that traffic noise has on wildlife. The study results highlight the need ... >>

Nokia camcorder for capturing panoramic video 30.07.2015

Nokia has introduced a camera for shooting panoramic video - Ozo. The company itself called it "a camera for virtual reality." The company claims that this is the first completed device of this kind on the market. It is equipped with eight sensors and eight microphones, arranged in such a way as to capture a panoramic image and sound (almost 360 degrees around the operator). At the back, the device has a hand for attaching a standard tripod and connectors for connecting equipment.

Ozo is designed to work with industry standards and existing systems without restrictions. For example, a XNUMX-degree video taken with a camera can be viewed with an Oculus helmet and posted on YouTube. No proprietary video recording formats are used here, Nokia representatives told The Verge at a product presentation in Los Angeles.

Nokia claims that this is the first product of its kind on the market - and for Nokia, respectively, too. Ozo has some special features. Firstly, this is the first device that allows you to see the signal from the sensors in real time - the role of the viewfinder can easily be played by an Oculus Rift connected to the camera or another virtual reality helmet. The operator puts it on his head and sees the picture in the format in which it will be in the end.

Secondly, Ozo does not require compilation, combining video signals into a single picture, as all previously released similar solutions required, Nokia said. The processor and specialized software built into the camera perform this task independently. And the operator just needs to upload the finished video and start playing it on a suitable device. The whole process takes a few minutes, whereas previously it took hours to process the video before viewing it.

Thus, Nokia expects Ozo to set the standard for capturing, processing and playing content for virtual reality. Ozo is not designed for private users. The main buyers of the device will be Hollywood studios, the media, digital content developers and advertising agencies. When asked by The Verge how much the camera would cost, Nokia said the price would be "in the middle of the double digits".

At the moment, Nokia is preparing to launch the production of Ozo. The device will be produced in Finland. Who will assemble it - the company did not specify (Nokia itself does not have production facilities). It is planned to start selling the camera in the fourth quarter of 2015.
