Not a single chemical laboratory, including a home one, can do without a gas burner. Of course, you can buy it in the store, but it's better to make it yourself. To make it, you will need two boards 100x50x10 mm in size, a piece of cork, a metal tube 10 mm in diameter and 80 mm long, a glass tube 200 mm long, a metal bracket 40x10 mm in size and a piece of connecting rubber hose about a meter long.

Gas-burner

In one of the boards, the base, make a cut 5 mm deep and 10 mm wide. In the other, stand, stepping back 10 mm from the bottom edge, drill a hole with a diameter of 20 mm and glue it vertically into the base cut. Then, taking a glass tube by the ends and slowly turning it, carefully heat it over a fire. When the glass is soft, bend it at a 90° angle and melt the edges. Then insert the tube into the cork, and glue the cork itself into the hole in the rack.

Attach a metal tube to the upper end of the rack with a bracket so that its lower hole is above one end of the glass tube; the other has a rubber hose for gas supply.

The amount of air required for complete combustion of the gas is regulated by a metal tube.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
