In the manufacture of programmers, microcircuit testers, prototyping boards, radio amateurs do not always manage to purchase suitable panels for installing microcircuits. Those that are widely available, as a rule, are designed for no more than ten times the installation - removal of the microcircuit. With repeated or inaccurate installation of the microcircuit, their spring contacts "weaken" or even deform quite soon, after which they can no longer provide reliable electrical contact.

However, panels with looped contacts (usually black) can be modified and used for these purposes. To do this, remove all contacts from the sockets from the sockets with tweezers from the panel housing. A small flap of rubber from the chamber of a bicycle wheel is cut with a sharp razor blade along a metal ruler into strips 1,5 mm wide. The strips are cut into pieces 2 mm long. The resulting inserts are inserted one at a time inside the loop of each contact.

Next, the panel is assembled in the reverse order, after which it is ready for use. The described refinement allows avoiding a premature decrease in the elasticity of contacts when forced to repeatedly use "disposable" microchip panels.
