Magnetic circuits manufactured by the American company Amidon are widely used in factory-made equipment and amateur radio designs not only in the USA. but also in many other countries. Below are the characteristics of the ring magnetic circuits of this company, made of ferrite and carbonyl iron.
The marking of ring ferrite magnetic cores consists of the letters FT, followed by a hyphen followed by two or three numbers - the approximate outer diameter of the magnetic core, expressed in hundredths of an inch. For example, FV-23 magnesium wire has an outside diameter of approximately 0.23 inches (about 0.58 cm). In the marking of some products, these numbers may be followed by the letters A or B. which mark the versions of the magnetic circuit. rings with different heights.
In the full designation of the product, the brand of ferrite (numbers, letters) from which the magnetic circuit is made is added to this combination through a hyphen.
The dimensions of the most common ring ferrite magnetic cores are summarized in Table. 1, and the characteristics of ferrite of different grades - in table. 2.
